I count myself as a liberal person. But there are others who aren't and so they have different opinions. We can argue and debate and even in some instances agree. But don't let it get to you. Its just a forum and most people view it as mild entertainment. At least I do. So just let it be.

The issue is, although the Captain is a bigot, he can also explain his own mind, which is fascinating. I once asked him how someone with his spelling could program computers, and he explained "the string values goes inside the quotes. That is either user supplied or came from the database... I'm not concerned with what something is called, I only worry about what it does." To understand his bigotry, you have to go back to the beginning, where he was programmed by the Southern Baptist Convention to defend their authority and attack their designated enemies. It doesn't matter who the designated enemy might be - certainly the Bible provides much more condemnation of adulterers and the rich (e.g. Newt Gingrich) than of the Captain's targets. But Newt Gingrich bought off enough of the Southern Baptist Convention to win the 2012 presidential primary in the Captain's home state of South Carolina. I could not understand how that was possible until the Captain explained his own process: the string value goes inside the quotes. Charles Bronson was in a classic movie called Telefon with a similar operating principle. Having programmed him, all the Convention needs to do now is designate the string value, and Captain Bot will launch into operation. Of course his attacks don't make any sense logically and are often counter-factual, but that's the point; he's in a Telefon trance, taking time that he could otherwise devote to his family and instead attacking his programmers' designated enemies. The program is self-destructive to the individual bots, but it keeps them under control and strengthens the programmers.
There are millions programmed the same way, enough to carry the South Carolina primary for Newt Gingrich. At least the Captain has the candor to explain it. If each PatNet User could ban just one other person, by the end of the week there'd be none of us left except maybe elliemae. I appreciate the opportunity to learn more about how other people think, and what causes them suddenly to stop thinking and follow a totally different program buried deep in their brains.
And if you think the Captain is bad, look at the Islamic world. Those people kill each other over cartoons. While the Captain rants nonsensically about Hollywood, Muslims actually kill people (including each other) over a YouTube video.
