1. Mostly prevalent among middle aged women
2. Diagnosis wholly dependent on self-reported symptoms.
3. Unmeasurable by any test or method.
4. Mysteriously appears and disappears as convenient
5. Sufferers too in pain to work or meet obligations, but plenty of energy to attack the skeptical.
6. Previously known as "hysteria" or "The Vapors" or "Nervous disorder"
7. Alleged sufferers talk your ear off worse than Vegans and Vegetarians about it.

Yes it's the dreaded "You're crazy Lady!" disease.
My wife went through it a few years back. Around the same time we were going through our Obamacare guinea pig experiment.
When we got $3000 bills even though we were paying $1700 a month in insurance. It cured her of it real quick. She hasn't had as much as a headache in a few years.

The only important symptom of fibromyalgia is being officially listed in the DSM as a disease and therefore being a profit center for the entire medical-industrial complex.

she was the least likely I'd suspect of hypochondria.

It's more physical depression. And Dr's prey on that. For my wife it started after going through a HPV/Cancer scare, the Dr's were more than happy to order every test you can imagine. Never once said "Your insurance company considers this Hypochondria and wont pay one thin red cent of these battery of tests, I'll subject you to."
