PatNet has a thread on the recent Islamic attack on the Strasbourg Christmas market, but now that the attack is confirmed definitely Islamic I will add it to this thread too.
"A massive manhunt involving hundreds of police and soldiers has been launched for a suspected extremist who yelled "Allahu Akbar" (God is greatest) during a shooting spree around one of Europe's most famous Christmas markets.

The assault in the eastern French city of Strasbourg killed two, left one person brain dead and injured 12 others, authorities said.
Police union officials identified the suspected assailant as Cherif Chekatt, a 29-year-old with an extensive police record for crimes including armed robbery and monitored as a suspected religious radical by the French intelligence services."
The British foreign office warns, “Terrorists are very likely to try to carry out attacks in France. Due to ongoing threats to France by Islamist terrorist groups, and recent French military intervention against Daesh (formerly referred to as ISIL), the French government has warned the public to be especially vigilant and has reinforced its security measures."
The Strasbourg Christmas market had been an Islamic target before:
"In December 2000, a plot by the Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat to bomb the Strasbourg Christmas market, at the feet of the Strasbourg Cathedral on New Year's Eve was discovered. The plot was foiled by French and German police after a terrorist network based in Frankfurt, Germany, the "Frankfurt group", was unravelled. A total of fourteen people were convicted as part of the plot; four in Germany and ten in France, including the operational leader, Mohammed Bensakhria (a.k.a. "Meliani"), thought to be a European deputy to Osama bin Laden."
Islam is a relentless enemy. Even if you foil a particular plot, more will follow. As long as Islam continues to grow, more Muslims will arrive to destroy the target, and eventually western civilization. It took more than 8 years for Muslims to destroy the World Trade Center in New York, from the 1993 bombing to September 11, 2001, but they did it.

Police sources said the suspect had shouted “Allahu Akbar” (God is greatest) in Arabic as he attacked the women, aged 17 and 20, at Marseille’s main railway station.
Two police sources said one had her throat slit while the other was stabbed in the chest and stomach.

These attacks do not surprise anyone who has read what Islam says and does around the world. Partisans prefer to repeat slogans that enable them to feel good about themselves and their tribe, rather than thinking through the consequences of the policies they advocate. Spreading Islam means, inherently, spreading terrorism, military policing, mass surveillance, and eventually totalitarian Sharia rule.
You can say that Islam is not alone in doing bad things, and that America has also done bad things. That ignores the obvious. America has also done great things, from the Wright Brothers to the moon landing to the polio vaccine and the Internet. American policy has tended to get corrupted (especially since Nixon's disastrous deals with KSA), but America allows people to say what they think: for example, one of today's SNL "weekend update" pair called the President names I won't repeat here, on a show the President had hosted twice. Islam produces nothing but backwardness. Islam is a complete system (totalitarianism) that commands the violent overthrow of our government and any other that stands for liberty. Islam commands capital punishment for anyone who criticizes it or refuses to submit. Any tool or institution can be misused, but Islam was designed, fabricated, and optimized for the purpose of conquering and subjugating as many people as possible. Islam means literally "submission," and commands believers to use deception ("allah is the best deceiver") and violence ("strike terror into...the enemies of allah...kill the disbelievers wherever you find them") to force everyone ultimately to submit to Sharia.
When you see someone advocating Islam, or spreading it, please know what they are advocating.
