I'm at a talk at the Menlo Park, CA public library put on by a former state senator, Joe Simitian, a Democrat.

He's calling it "Listening to Trump's America", which is unusually open-minded for this area, which simply does not listen at all once the name Trump is mentioned.

So I'll take a few notes during the talk. Wish I had that instant-comment thing going like I did during Trump's election last year.

Supposedly it "sold out" of the 700 free tickets, but it's about to start (7 minutes to go) and only about half full.

As a Freedom Loving American Man, I have no fear at all of speaking the truth, and expressing my thoughts, ideas, and opinions, because I know they are genuine.

Whether they are genuine or not has nothing to do with the fear that many have of speaking their mind in public. That crap sounds like this new propoganda you see on the TV where they say "as long as you are true to yourself, everything will work out."

Its not usually talk that belongs in the workplace anyway.

a left coast problem, where it seems the men have abandoned their manhood

@errc we are in agreement on this. The west coast is stridently opposed to traditional ideas of masculinity. And is opposed to motherhood too, for that matter.

Try again. Citizens United decision not SJW overturned the political landscape. .

Problem with that is that she outraised him, mostly from powerful, wealthy entities, by a huge amount.

News flash. The campaigns aren't the only spending in elections. Look up the word 501(c) which barely existed before citizens united but now they spend more than the campaigns. At a ratio of 10 to 1 republican. What entities do you suppose fund them?

Hillary had 300 million in the bank before trump started raising money, which is almost exactly the amount she out raised trump by, 623 million to 334 million. If trump had another year to raise funds it would have been pretty even. Trump raised less because he started a year later.

The discussion was about republican gain in seats since citizens united, not the presidential election. Do you have anything relevant or meaningful to add to that subject?
