If we don't know why the failure occurred or who was responsible then how can we know what school they went to? If we don't know what school they went to then what does FUIs admission satitistic matter?

No it does not imply that the cause is known. All that it implies is that due to admission statistics, it is more likely that a female/minority graduate is less likely to be competent and thus more likely to screw up than Asian/white/male graduate.
