Again another thing I don't understand. The comments I see most often on social media have to do with unmeasurable, vague concepts along the lines of "This is how we are going to define what the United States is".

Basically rubbish like this:

Stated U.S. Rep. Filemon Vela (D-TX), who penned an infamously scathing letter to Trump slamming the border wall when Trump was still a candidate:

The border wall is a physical representation of the cultural and racial insults President Trump has spewed since his campaign announcement. A physical wall is also a wasteful expenditure of taxpayer dollars, endangers wildlife, stomps on property rights of private landowners, and isolates our partner, Mexico. Mr. Trump, you’re a racist and you can take your border wall and shove it up your ass.

The wall would save us billions in healthcare costs and education costs. It would....pay for itself.

And think of the numbers in housing that might become available. Granted it's not prime choice, but rent $ for the bottom 1/3rd might become more affordable again....

Yeah, you will loose your maid, gardener, carpenter, plumber / handyman. If they're illegally here. Get over it, do it yourself or pay for it.

Less cheap labor for left to hire, while replacing Americans. That’s the reason, which left will forever deny.

It'll be great for soyboys to get a copy of Time Life Home Repair.

"Clogged Sink. This is Draino."
"OMG, that sooooo looks like a dangerous chemical."
"Pour it down the sink."
"Don't I need a gas mask?"

I find that wall opposers typically fall into one of two categories:

a.) They plain and simple don’t believe there should be borders. They believe that people should’ve able to roam freely anytime anyplace.

b.) They’ve seen one too many liberal late night talk shows that say that a wall won’t keep everyone out. And because it won’t keep everyone out, it would be a failure.

Amigo, no worries as to paying for "The Wall". Mexico will pay because no bullshit Trump said so, about 50 times and he never ever fibbs. Believe me.

Internet searches still doesn't work on your computer? You really should have that fixed.

https://www.politifact.com/florida/statements/2015/jul/29/marco-rubio/rubio-says-40-percent-illegal-immigrants-are-overs/

There are lots more. I don't feel a need to link or source something that can be looked up in 2 seconds by anyone with an above room temperature IQ. Maybe I should revise that policy to accommodate the lowest common denominator on patnet.

So the question stands, what will the wall do for overstayers? Crickets chirping as always.

Are overstayers trafficking children and adult sex slaves and/or heroine?

Perhaps just maybe the wall is more important than chasing down illegals who overstay on holiday.

Most of the human trafficking is not from mexico. Read the report Hidden Slaves some time.

"According to the 2011 Department of State report, victims are largely from Thailand, India, Mexico, Philippines, Haiti, Honduras, El Salvador, and the Dominican Republic, though U.S. citizens have also been victims of human trafficking. Relevant to people being trafficked from other countries, "[v]ulnerabilities are increasingly found in visa programs for legally documented students and temporary workers who typically fill labor needs in the hospitality, landscaping, construction, food service, and agricultural industries""

Almost all the heroin comes through ports of entry. https://www.wola.org/analysis/four-common-misconceptions-u-s-bound-drug-flows-mexico-central-america/https://www.wola.org/analysis/four-common-misconceptions-u-s-bound-drug-flows-mexico-central-america/

"The vast majority of the drug that enters from Mexico does so through “ports of entry”—the 48 official land crossings through which millions of people, vehicles, and cargo pass every day. “Heroin seizures almost predominantly are through the port of entry and either carried in a concealed part of a vehicle or carried by an individual,” then-U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Gil Kerlikowske told a congressional committee last year. “We don’t get much heroin seized by Border Patrol coming through, I think just because there are a lot of risks to the smugglers and the difficulty of trying to smuggle it through,” he said."

The wall won't stop shit as long as there are jobs for illegals. Its all just a lot of political theatre and misdirection for the base. Three card monte on a grand scale

The amount of resources illegals suck up is more than 5 times the costs of the Wall. So Trump was right but he’s understated the costs savings by a bit.
