But they lose U.S. Senate races in red areas –”

“Because of gerrymandering,” Behar interrupted.

What a dumbass! Senate contests are decided on a state-wide vote, not one that can be carefully apportioned into drawn districts where gerrymandering can happen! With Senators, every vote counts. She’s just plain ignorant, as are her fans.

I think Ocascio the Neiman Marcus Socialist made a stupid comment about her stopping appointments when she's in the House, too.

Edit: Here's another retarded remark, this one from Manchin (Trump told WV he'd caucus with the Dems on most everything important!)
Firing Sessions is a Constitutional Crisis, for some reason, as if the President doesn't have the power to fire from his own Cabinet..

We get a new on in January.

Ginsburg-ageddon

REPORT: Retirement in January?

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has had a re-occurrence of malignant melanoma, she has told her law clerks. Ginsburg was treated in 1999 for colon cancer and had surgery in 2009 for pancreatic cancer.
34   MisdemeanorRebel   2018 Nov 8, 12:07pm

It's time, Ginsberg has to go.

To cling on so with all these health problems is ridiculous at this point. She's 85.
35   Goran_K   2018 Nov 8, 12:10pm

Man, this is going to get crazy if Ginsburg steps down or retires.

Kavanaugh is going to look like Sunday school.
36   Ceffer   2018 Nov 8, 12:10pm

Hope she doesn't have an organ doner permission card. She could wind up whacking a few donees yet. They'd wake up from anesthesia demanding $2000.00 an hour, then die screaming of cancer.

Of course I remember. Mccain and Flake were the douchiest never Trumpers alive (RIP John).

But now with a solid senate majority, I wonder what Democrats will pull when Ginsburg leaves the bench (by her will or not). I would bet on there being multiple false flag type events happening in a short span.

Actually, we had a constitutional crisis over just that. The first POTUS to get impeached was because he fired a cabinet officer Congress forbade him to. Seriously.

From the Wikipedia article you linked:
In 1887, the Tenure of Office Act was repealed by Congress, and subsequent rulings by the United States Supreme Court seemed to support Johnson's position that he was entitled to fire Stanton without Congressional approval. The Supreme Court's ruling on a similar piece of later legislation in the 1926 Myers v. United States affirmed the ability of the president to remove a postmaster without Congressional approval, and stated in its majority opinion "that the Tenure of Office Act of 1867 ... was invalid".[47]

So the very act of law for the violation of which Andrew Johnson was impeached, was both repealed and deemed unconstitutional.
This means that going forward we can firmly discount all arguments that begin with the presupposition that the POTUS can’t fire someone from his cabinet. He can and he has and he will. There’s not even an unconstitutional act in force to oppose him.

Everybody in the executive branch serves at the President's pleasure. Congress can't forbid him to fire anybody, nor claim it's a high crime or misdemeanor for him to do so.

can impeach

I suspect we might see 2 years of hearings and impeachment theater, and the Senate won't remove, so it would replay 1996. Many Democrats feel motivated by 'revenge', 'vengeance', OrangeManBad, whatever, so they will resort to self-destructive behavior rather than trying to make deals with someone they consider the devil.

Also, the House has no role in judicial confirmations. Democrats could try to use House control as leverage in negotiations over judicial nominations, but that would require dealing with the "devil" OrangeManBad. I doubt that Democrats would really prioritize judicial nominations in that way, or make the necessary deals, and besides Republican Senators might prefer partisan appointees.

The election result was predicted by polls but remains disappointing IMO: Democrats got the wrong house of Congress. If Democrats had won the Senate but not the House, then they could not impeach, but they could insist on nonpartisan judicial appointments. Instead, we have the opposite.

Folks, If the SCOTUS is seen as partisan and rubber-stamping policies that are seen as unconstitutional by half the country, then we have a constitutional crisis.
It means half the country no longer respects the institutions overall.

What else is new? I've heard Left wingers complaining about the Constitution, electoral college and State's representation as long as I can remember. Especially this week in terms of the Senate. "Why does Montana get 2 Senators the same as California!!!"

Think it's pretty clear from the context. It's "time" to "go" retire when you have a lot of health problems and you're 85.

Hanging on is just partisan stubbornness at this point. She really should have resigned years ago during her other health crises.

If Trump gets another nomination, that's the Dems fault for thinking they would have a permanent Majority because of the 20% Foreign Born + Native Minorities forever.

You really think we’d be better off with 9 Elena Kagens and Sotomayors? Talk about partisan decisions! Obama rammed those two through without any consideration for bipartisanship and they’ve proceeded to vote the Democrat party line.

In contrast, both of Trump’s appointees were widely respected fairly non partisan judges with extensive legal experience and tenure. So far, Gorsuch has stuck to the law even when the result gives a win for the Left.

I can’t say the same for Ginsburg. She’s gone off the rails Left.

It's always been that way. Obamas court rubber stamped everything he did when it mattered to Obama. All those bullshit impeachments are partisan bullshit at best. Yet half the country supports it. Blame stupid America on the left for that shit show, they are the last once to do it.

Hmm. I thought you were predicting a gain in the House for the republicans? Is my memory wrong? And Trump is scared shitless IMO

Trump isn't really scared. The Senate votes on impeachment, and unless Mueller finds something serious, he will remain POTUS. There will be some antics by the Dems, but nothing serious. At least Pelosi recognizes that fighting Trump isn't the answer. Dems need to pivot quickly to field an actual candidate that could get elected President in 2020. There will be plenty of money, but with DNC leadership as is, I think they won't be able to do it.
59   MisdemeanorRebel   2018 Nov 8, 7:37pm

The Problem is the Dem Base is a bunch of braying vampire moonbats, ravening for blood.

Dems (esp. Obama) think they can turn ID Politics on and off like a lightswitch, dispensing of it when it's not necessary but using it aggressively during elections or confirmations.

Skeletor may not be able to just forget all the impeachment promises and work with Trump.

The Dems played with fire and they've come back to camp to find it's jumped the rock circle the dry grass is smoldering in many places.

Sotomayor got 68 votes in the Senate, including 9 Republicans. In addition, Ted Kennedy had supported her but was away due to health reasons and so he could not vote.

Kagan got 63 votes in the Senate, including 5 Republicans.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg got 96 votes in the Senate.
