On Monday, if Fairfax does not step down, a Dem in the Virginia House will start impeachment proceedings. If Fairfax is taken out, but Northam and Herring refuse to go, that means that of the Top Three Va state execs in trouble, only the Black man would be taken out.

Leaving the two Whites in Power while removing the Black would be some bad "optics." Granted, Fairfax's rape accusations are worse than the other two's Black Face actions, but the rape does not make the Black Face trivial.

And for "atonement" he will support every "Black" cause such as increased Affirmative Action, push more racism prosecutions, push workplace diversity monitoring, appoint only Blacks to any positions that come open, give preference to Black contractors in State procurements, and may even push "reparations" for slavery. I would not be surprised if the Virginia Black Caucus leaders told Northam to hang in despite all their calls for him to resign. That way the Black Caucus gets the optics of opposing racism while keeping a repentant lapdog in power to serve them. Easy first step for Northam would be to push statewide to get rid of Confederate monuments and statues.

Two navy vessels crashed under Adm. Phil Davidson’s command, but a lot of ships stayed afloat, too.

Sen. Angus King of Maine was not amused when the head of the U.S. Pacific Command argued the amount of ships that did not collide on his watch should be considered in the Senate Armed Service’s Committee’s condemnation of the two that did, killing 17 sailors.

“These two collisions were a tragedy, there is no doubt about it,” Davidson said in reference to a pair of 2017 accidents involving the destroyers Fitzgerald and John S. McCain. “But the fact of the matter is 280-odd other ships weren’t having collisions.”

A baffled King interrupted the Admiral as he tried to argue the Navy’s level of readiness was up to par.

“Are you saying there were no failures that led to these collisions because there are 280 other ships that didn’t have collisions?” King asked. “Isn’t that the standard… no collisions?”
