Memorial South(The Hospital Conglomerate in South Florida) Owns and operates every last Clinic in South Florida. Even the Walgreen, and CVS walk in Clinics.
When my wife had her health scare back in 2012-13 we scheduled an out patient procedure with a Doctor at his Clinic. On the day the procedure was to be done. The receptionist informed us that Memorial Hospital put a stop to the procedure being done, because we weren't insured. So luckily I got insurance through work, but the wheels of Obamcare turned so slow. It was another 5 months before the procedure was done at Joe DiMagio Hospital. And then of course, we ended up with mystery bills that were 5 times the amount, her original Doctor was going to do it, at the Clinic he worked.

There's that, and that stands on its own. There's just no way $700 insulin shots can hide behind that, without Big Pharma's huge fat ass sticking out from the sides in plain view.

Yup. But it's even more screwed up than that. I've seen hospital bills of a certain official price but the "negotiated price" the insurance company pays is 1/4. How screwed up is a system when an insurance company routinely gets to pay 1/4 the price? It's like the only reason to get health insurance is that it protects you from hospital extortion.

You clearly haven't been paying attention about the Mystery Bill as first reported by me in 2012-13, now a news cycle standard. People go see a Doctor pay their measly copay. Then get hit with a series of bills ranging from $300 to $1500 over the next 9 months. And the Insurance does not want to hear you belly ache about it.
