This makes Musk the largest shareholder.

Hopefully he uses this leverage to clean house of all the Commies and Groomers that run this site.

It's not green either. If you account for just the extraction of minerals for the lithium batteries, you've put more CO2 into the atmosphere for one battery than you would an ICE vehicle. That's before you've even charged it. Musk isn't a moron. He built a "cool" golf cart now that I'm researching batteries. I also don't trust Teslas safety. My wife and 3 kids were rear ended in our Sequoia. Totaled. It didn't look bad, but my kids and wife could literally be dead today if they drove a Tesla.

He's making money on EVs whose real purpose is to develop rovers for Moon and Mars.

We MIGHT return to the moon before Elon Musk is dead at 100 of old age, but we're not going to Mars anytime soon. Mars takes 5 months to get there, and then once you get there, you're there for about a year as you have to wait until Mars is again close enough to the Earth to get back. It's a MAJOR mission.

A base would have to be setup by remote means, the amount of food you'd have to bring is no joke, fuel would have to be parked in orbit around mars, and possibly a ship itself - and if anything goes wrong, ANYTHING goes wrong, the men die there, and it will be men. Not because women can't do it, but the PR disaster if a woman doesn't make it back would be 1000x worse than if the men don't make it back. Men are expendable.

On top of that, the people going to Mars will need to be in simulated gravity, because when people are in 0 G for a few months, they can't walk once they get back to Earth. There's some ideas of how to use rotation to simulate this, and it would probably work and be safe. Men have lived in modules on Earth that spin to simulate 2 G for over a week. I don't believe the people were incapacitated when they exited.

We'll have a full fledged and manned moon base before we even THINK about going to Mars. Mars is over 100 years away and you're going to have some real crazy nutbags to go, but they are plenty of them. It will have to be some sort of rivalry between the US and China to get it going like the moon mission was. It will cost a fortune.

The corrupt governments of the world will never countenance a self-sufficient (AKA politically independent) colony off the earth. To do so would invite the possibility that these independent colonies, if sufficiently provoked, would fight back by dropping rocks (with catastrophic results) on their earthbound tormentors.

This is the logic of psychopaths, or the logic of crabs in a bucket. In any case, we shall see how Musk et. al. are sabotaged once their technological infrastructure is capable of launching viable colonies.

The Martian Resistance will fight off the globalist oppressors!

They are over priced for sure.

People vote with their checkbook. The waiting list on the cars, up to over a year, suggests others don’t feel the same way.

Marketing trumps engineering.

Electric vehicles are no better than internal combustion engine vehicles, and in many ways are worse. They have less range, the material to build them is dependent on essentially slave labor, our energy grid is burdened by them, they produce (at least) as much pollution as an ICE engine, you just don't see it, because it's produced at an electrical plant which isn't in your backyard.

I can tell you this, and you will ignore it. Marketing trumps engineering. We know, but who listens to the people who build all this shit? We are not skilled in convincing you, we are skilled only in informing you and in building all this shit. You simply cannot believe us. Truth has no power over marketing.

He did exactly what they told him: "If you don't like Twitter - get your own".
