The truth is Hamas crossed over, killed people, took hostages, and celebrated it with live-streams. They still have hostages. They have called for others to attack, and others have.

You don’t have to like Israel, but clearly they were attacked, and the fact Iran, Houthis in Yemen, Hezbollah in Lebanon continue to threaten and attack is further evidence that Israel did not pick this fight. The Islamic antisemites started this battle. It will end when the antisemites agree to peace.

Do you seriously believe that the leadership of Hamas did not know exactly how Israel would respond to the slaughter of hundreds of Israeli citizens, families, children, people at a rave? If you honestly believe that, I don’t know what to say.

The goal of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” attack was to provoke precisely the response it has provoked. There is nothing mysterious or complicated about this. It is Asymmetric Warfare 101, straight out of the Terrorism textbook.

Sympathy isn't much of an incentive. I'd say more likely reasons include Hamas leadership needing to refill the coffers, Israel wanting the land, US wanting the resources. It is war. It is not about people, or saving lives. It certainly is not about quality of life or freedom or any of those great ideals that Americans are used to hearing as reasons for war. It is about WINNING. Hamas hoped their attack would rally other Islamic terrorists to join the fight. Hamas wants to destroy Israel from the river to the sea. They hoped their attack would be the spark that ignites a larger Islamic war to destroy Israel.
