What's funny is that HSA provider doesn't even send you a tax form - you need to calculate that shit yourself. Which begs the question: do they report any of it to CA tax board? I suspect they don't.

Yeah, that's not the case everywhere else, at least that I've heard of. Wouldn't doubt CA doing that. It's not taxed federally still, but if you are still making decent money that could be upwards of 13% depending how they tax it.

It's only gonna get worse for you guys out there as people leave. I'd get out now if you own. Renting you might do okay as values drop. I know Mell you like Napa area, I just don't see anyone in CA doing all that well the next 5 years IF the are planning on moving. It will level out, but if you're moving in the next two years I'd be on the market yesterday.
