I agree with this though I would exclude the term liberals because many are labeled wrongly or even self-identify themselves wrongly as liberals. I am socially liberal, but old-school liberals were a broad burgeoisie, socially liberal but fiscally conservative and realists, not ideologists like today's progressives. Also the screwed up foreign policy is certainly the fault of both parties, as are most domestic problems. In any case the biggest scourge is political correctness and we all know which party is championing that (though the cuckservatives are trying hard to suck as well).

As a liberal, I seek to make government the best it can be, doing the things it should do and not doing and not having the power to do things it shouldn't. I strive for transparency and accountability in government and the rights on individuals.

In contrast conservatives struggle to use government to let a few individual overpower and violate the rights of everyone else. The vile USA Patriot Act and NDAA are both examples of this. Oh, and before you make the stupid trope argument that Democrats supported those two acts as well, the vast majority of Democrats are not liberals by any measure.

The original post had nothing to do with conservatism vs liberalism. However, in the first reply Tenpoundbass spewed the typical and often repeated lies of conservatives about liberals. Today, I decided to take a stand against these petulant and puerile lies.

Of course, conservatives are very stupid people. They think that by repeating a lie ad nauseam, the public will simply accept the lie, and so they are unprepared and incapable of defending the lie when someone with even a micron of intelligence challenges it.
