You are being sarcastic, I hope.
Zuckerberg setting up a foundation to hold his money is just tax avoidance and tax postponement, all the while keeping control of the money within the family. Sure, they have to give it away eventually, but they get to choose the causes. And little Maxima gets to run the place, be sure of that.
The choice was very clear. The taxable money was going to the critters in Washington to destroy the world, so why not put it in a foundation where it can be put to better use.
Maxima
I don't get it, we're in the 21st century and parents are giving Roman era names?
Yeah Mark and Pris, a modern female's name is Maxine.
What do I have to do to not hear about Suckerberg little moocher and the $450 millions she gets to "not donate"?
What happened to his Sister? I heard she was the JAP Rock Queen of America?
hhahahahahah
Come on guys. How can you deny this noble act? Zuckerberg develops technology to make the world a better place, and then gives it all away to make the world an even more better place for all of mankind.
Compare our billionaires to the lazy Saudi Kings who probably have slaves to wipe their bottoms.
I don't get it. Not a single post in support of Zuckerberg. I usually see a lot more support for ISIS.
You guys disappoint me. :(
I'm surprised at the bitterness here too. I hated Bill Gates for a while due to the instabilities of Windows, but guys like him, Buffet, and Zuckers efforts in philanthropy are great. Giving 99% of his money away is great, as long as his charities are useful. If he chooses poorly, I guess I'd rather have some of the money go to the Gov't (taxes). His daughter will be better off without the burden, and so will the rest of us.
Is the world really better off due to Facebook? I doubt that. There were other social networks out there that were technically about the same as Facebook, so it was a first to gain market share situation. If it weren't Facebook, it would have been something else quite similar. There are also lots of problems attributed to Facebook too. Just because people use something doesn't make it a positive. Look no further than heroine for an example. But I'm not arrogant enough to try to make any claims one way or the other regarding the net effect of Facebook.

Hey, at least King (or Prince) Abdullah is banging hotties of numerous nationalities with big bazonkas!
Seriously, even I'd been able to date, hotter Harvard gals than Zuckerberg during my youth, one of whom had a 3.9 GPA, along with a nice @ss. And that's pathetic, given the fact that I'd stopped dating, almost 5 years ago. I once even had a gal with big t*ts from MIT.
Seriously, for the rich guy, Markie isn't doing that great.

Ok, as a middle classer, here are my stats ...
Harvard: 2 (one with a great @ss)
MIT: 1 (yes, the one with nice t*ts)
Columbia: 0 (all worthless bitches, lamest crowd ever)
Now, outside of elite schools ..
UConn: 1
UMass: 1
Emerson: 1
Ok, then once I had some money ... the French-Canadian esc*rt/lingerie model from the Univ of London, and to make Bob happy (I believe it was the School of Oriental/African studies, not London School of Economics): 1 and *BOY, SHE WAS F*CKING AWESOME*
Ok, I apologize, UoL is elite.
Here's what I would like to know: Can a "chartiable" foundation like the ones set up by BiIl Gates donate money to a so-called SuperPAC (Political Action Committee)? I ask because it is well known that the Koch brothers, Sheldon Adelson and other billionaires are spending huge sums of money funneled through SuperPACS to influence US elections. including the upcoming presidential election of 2016.
Note that a SuperPAC is a tax-exempt organization that is organized under IRS regulation 501(c)(4).
From wikipedia, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/501%28c%29_organization#Types
---------
According to the IRS Publication 557†, in the Organization Reference Chart section, the following is an exact list of 501(c) organization types and their corresponding descriptions.[1]
501(c)(1) — Corporations Organized Under Act of Congress (including Federal Credit Unions)
501(c)(2) — Title Holding Corporation for Exempt Organization[2]
501(c)(3) — Religious, Educational, Charitable, Scientific, Literary, Testing for Public Safety, to Foster National or International Amateur Sports Competition, or Prevention of Cruelty to Children or Animals Organizations
501(c)(4) — Civic Leagues, Social Welfare Organizations, and Local Associations of Employees
ETC.
---------------
By the way, I don't think Zuckerberg has announced what "type" or form his own charitable foundation will have. It is just called the "Chan Zuckerberg Initiative".
Any tax lawyers here that can educate us on the legal status of the Gates foundation, for example? Is it of the 501(c)(N) type?
Zuckers baby is like the royal baby. Don't people have more important stuff to do than watching pictures of these 2 every 5 seconds in the media?

That I believe.

Priscilla is a pretty and intelligent woman. Sure Mark could have any woman he wants, and he wants a good wife. Would you want to father a child with a whore?

How is an ad platform "making the world a better place"?

What about the MITer with big hooters or the Harvardian with the nice @ss?

An ad platform coupled with an incredibly intrusive and creepy spying apparatus.
Wow. Have you seen anybody about this?

Sex only please. Lots of it. Every which way.
But no babies please. It's the smart MIT ones who will come after everything I've got.

If you release, all over her melons, it won't be a problem :-)!
And he says he's giving away most of his wealth. Funny when Facebook(and it WILL)(Think AOL, MySpace, Yahoo) tanks, he'll be the most bitter jaded person on the planet.
Congratulations Mark and Priscilla. Thanks for the $45 billion too. This could only happen in America.
You have the opportunity to succeed like no other place on the planet.
Each one of these billionaires Zuckerberg, Gates, Buffett with enough money to bail out countries, decide to donate it all for the betterment of mankind.
If God exists, he must be American.

There's one more baby filling up news feeds on Facebook. Meet Maxima Chan Zuckerberg.
Mark Zuckerberg's wife Dr. Priscilla Chan gave birth to the couple's first child, a daughter, early last week.
"Max, we love you and feel a great responsibility to leave the world a better place for you and all children," Zuckerberg and Chan said in letter to their daughter, which they posted on Facebook Tuesday. "We wish you a life filled with the same love, hope and joy you give us. We can't wait to see what you bring to this world."
In announcing their daughter's birth, the couple also pledged to donate 99% of their Facebook stock -- worth about $45 billion -- "during our lives" to promote equality and the human potential.
