Oil moves below $40 a barrel. The timing is perfect for a brand of gasoline guaranteed to have been produced and refined in the Western Hemisphere. I would gladly pay triple and proudly display an ugly corporate bumper sticker just to know I'm not burning Middle Eastern Oil.

Yep. That premium would goto American (or at least, North American anyways) payrolls.

Islamaphobia and global warming is killing oil prices

As I posted in another thread, High Performance Renewable Diesel is available throughout California (edit: in select metro regions). There is some irony here, though, as it is currently imported from a refinery in Singapore. I'm guessing we'll eventually see domestic production like we see for biodiesel. Approved pathways for CA's low carbon fuel standard for HPR Diesel include feedstocks from the US & Australia (rendered lard) and Asia (fish oil/guts as a waste product from processors). It can be used in any diesel vehicle
There are also domestic producers of biodiesel, which is what I've been using this since Gulf II (though it does carry premium over regular diesel where I live). A natural gas powered vehicle is another option.

The other alternative, if you have a flex fuel vehicle, is an E85 blend.

To add to AF's point, CA recently passed an e-bike law that will allow 28mph pedal assist electric bicycles (20 mph for throttle only e-bikes).

Those bikes sound like suicide machine for the busy roads around here.

This is yet still another reason why we need tariffs.

I'll gladly drive what ever burns in my tank for as cheap as it can be.
I mean as long as THEY'VE got OUR jobs to go with that Oil.
I don't know if you've noticed, but we don't have an extra $8,000 a year per driver just to make you feel Patriotic for once.

The Market is finally turning, and the middle class and small players will now benefit, as the upper crust get's their ball sack nailed to the cross.
And you want everyone to feel sorry for them why?

These are the fuck NUTS you guys call the 1%, frustrating our ecconomy and zapping productivity and jobs. Creating false flags and red herrings to justify nothing more than manipulated commodity markets accross the board. Burn in the hell bastards. Let me go get more gasoline, the SHITS CHEAP!!!

As long as you don't get stuck behind one of those autonomous Google NEVs going 25mph you should be fine.
