They just wanted the next president to be a woman so bad that they were blind to everything else.
Maybe there was some of this, but imho mostly Hillary wanted Hillary to be president and the establishment complied.
IMO, the major take-away for Democrats is that you cannot win an election by focusing on racism or sexism. If the majority just don't care about that even with a candidate like Donald, just forget about that play.
Maybe, they should have focused more on the environment. I also think that Hillary made a mistake refusing to defend what she likes about free trade. By failing to defend what she likes about the issue, she just looked like a duplicitous tool.
The Democrats should have focused more on terrorism, and less on locker room talk.
This is an interesting read on what happened

Agreed for the most part. That was a huge problem. A woman at any cost, even a woman who would set back women's rights by 40 years.
However, I would like to add that Hillary was also picked because she was the insider next in line to be president, whereas Bernie Sanders was a rebel rouser and outsider as far as the DNC was concerned. Sanders was stirring up trouble, whereas Hillary has a long history of touting the DNC's agenda and making political connections and favors. Had both candidates been men or both been women, Hillary would still have been chosen over Sanders and done everything they could to ensure Hillary was the nominee.
It's too bad that Hillary actually prevented two really good women from having any chance of becoming president. I'd love to see an Elizabeth Warren / William Black ticket. I'd also like to see Jill Stein run as a Democrat with the Democrats adopting the Green Party's platform largely or in whole.
The Clinton's, Obama's, Pelosi, Reid have brought a lot of disgrace to the Democrat party. They used to be a party with much more class - hell, I even voted blue several elections.
If Reid is doubling down on Trump, it's going to be a losing battle for this asshole.
These guys will all be dead within 5 years. they don't have clue on how to make money honestly and until 18 moths ago. They were sure that their Billion dollar retirement was on track.
LOL You'll see!
I want Dan to be happy, too. Maybe Taylor Swift can be the 3rd party candidate.
If Taylor Swift ran for president once her fans are old enough to vote, she'd win in a landslide even as a third party candidate. Remember when California elected Arnold Schwarzenegger as governor in that recall election? Americans love celebrities, and Taylor Swift has an army of followers not seen since the Kiss Army all got hip replacements and had to retire.
And you don't want to fuck with the army of teenage girls that make up the Swift Army. Just ask Michael J. Fox.
Glad Trump didn't accept & denounced KKK endorsement.
He's such a tolerant conservative.
Guess making Rep/Con/Teas look like fools should be scratched off the bucket list.
Harry Reid has yet to experience the Weirding Module.
Trrrrrrrrrruuuuuummmmmmppp.
His name is a killing word.
" However, they can vote for Hillary Clinton if they choose. Even in states where that is not allowed, their vote would still be counted, they would simply pay a small fine - which we can be sure Clinton supporters will be glad to pay!"
Gosh! I can't believe Rep/Con/Teas are so dumb to not know that electors can vote how they choose.
Trump can still lose!
Dumbass HEY YOU knew this.
This must mean that Rep/Con/Teas are dumber than me.
I'm releasing a new movie "Dumber".
Will they vote against the will of the voters?
Everyone likes surprises. Hope Trump is ready for any of the possible Black Swans in the next four years.
I agree. It will probably come before the wall and certainly before the second term.
The Wall has already been authorized many times, just not funded by the Country Club GOP.
I still think the wall is symbolic. But he will improve border security bigly.
He's definitely said abolish Obamacare, repeal Common Core, renegotiate the Trade Deals, bring back manufacturing, and deport illegal aliens over and over and over again.
The Wall is going to end up being a mix of roads/railroads, economic zones, free trade zones, and actual physical and electronic barriers.
Relocate the maquiadoras to the Wall Area, slap a 15% payroll tax on employed Mexicans there, and whack up a portion of it with the Mexican Elite who can steal some of that money for themselves in return for their assistance. They'll be glad to do it. The rest will go towards building/maintaining the BEZ (Border Economic Zone).
Who would it have been if Hillary was President? William Black? Ralph Nader? hahahahahhaha
It's a rumor he's considering, not an announcement yet.
Self-deportation is the answer. It only sounded "wrong" because it came out of Romney's mouth.
Correction: Unsubstantiated Unnamed Source Rumor: An unnamed Trump Adviser recommends Dimon for the post.

This election is mostly about Red Pill vs. Blue Pill. Most people don't really care about policy DETAILS.
Most likely, we are screwed anyway.
I'm glad to hear that Trumpligula was always in the pocket of the Shadow Government, just as the Founding Fathers intended.
These guys didn't bother you when Obama was in office. You defended their too big to fail checks.
So why don't you tell us why they so great!
I remember when Obama won in 2008, everybody said "Don't worry, his campaign advisers are all Wall Street Skeptics. They're gonna get cabinet positions."
And of course, from Wikileaks, we saw that Michael Froman of Citigroup was picking the Obama Cabinet, and all those campaign advisers were relegated to powerless White Paper Committees while Wall Street Crooks got the Cabinet positions.
Despite a mandate of fixing Wall Street, Obama dropped all rhetoric on regulated Wall Street immediately, and began working on a subsidy scheme for Aetna/US Healthcare.
One skill that Trump possesses is to pick the right people for the right jobs. Lets give credit where credit is due.
One skill that Trump possesses is to pick the right people for the right jobs. Lets give credit where credit is due.
And more importantly, the skill to fire people.
If true that would be a poor choice unless he told Dimon any greed or self interest would count towards his death at the hands of Clinton's old personal trainer while working out at the end of his term.
So is this any worse than say, Paulson or Rubin from Goldman Sachs being Sec. Treasury?
It's not like there's anything new here afaict.
Thunderlips Licks Shill Tears says

LOL. Trump just fired Christie.
Bezos and Slim's Blogs are never going to give Trump a break.
First 100 days: Hearings on Amazon Monopoly, working conditions at "High Tech Jobs of the Future" Amazon Warehouses, hearings on billionaire ownership of media outlets and trust busting Media Conglomerates.
Maybe rules limiting foreign ownership of US Media to 5% of shares (Fuck you, Murdoch and Slim)
Attack is the best Defense.
Tried to read the article from the original post, but it's gone: http://www.cnbc.com/2016/11/10/donald-trump-advisors-considered-jpmorgans-jamie
"We're sorry, the page you were looking for isn't found here."
Anyway, the story is "Trump's advisors considered", not "Trump personally offered position to".
Gov. Chris Christie is no longer the leader of the transition team, and Mike Pence is taking over. Hawkish on War!

Stop it, Patrick, you're not supposed to read articles with a critical, cynical eye.
So far Trump has not appointed Geithner and Larry Summers to his transition team :)
I won't be horrified. I'll see it as a concession to get other shit done.
The person who was elected with a mandate to reform Wall Street was Obama, and it turned out his job was to run down the clock on prosecutions. His appointment of Geithner, Summers, and Holder of the Marc Rich pardon was evidence he was lying the whole 2008 campaign.
Trump's mandate is to trim the excesses of outsourcing and insourcing, repeal Heritage Foundation Care, and generally check Neoliberal Globalization.
Hillary was supported by big banks and millions of OPENLY anti-white racist misandrists who made no secret of their irrational, hateful, dangerous prejudices.
Expected. The price to pay to get what we want in 4 years. Successful or not, after the primaries, this is the only way.
The dirty little secret is that all legislation is controlled by the staffers. The politicians are too busy running for reelection.
E.G. term limits would make the problem worse. Because that would throw more power to the staffers.
Bankers are staffers, which is why Goldman Sachs has had someone in the white house for ever.
I said this before the election, I'll say it again. You cannot fix a broken system from within. Trump is NOT a financial outsider. He is just as buddy buddy with wall street as Obama and every president before that back to LBJ. If this seriously surprises anyone you should be smacked in the back of the head for being so gullible.
