Patrick Tehan/Bay Area News Group Capitola resident Kathryn Johnson, who has asthma and back problems, worries that if Obamacare is repealed, insurance companies will return to charging her exhorbitant premiums because of her pre-existing health conditions.

THey should talk to TehDumbass. He would explain to them that the ACA didn't actually do anything other than make insurance more expensive.

You so don't understand. Not even close. Say you're a parent with a sick child, with some disease or chronic condition and you change jobs or become self employed. You change insurance. OR for some reason you have a brief period without insurance. HAve you had the same insurance your entire life ? MAybe so, but most people have several different jobs over their life. If they get really sick, it may hurt their ability to even have a job and therefore also insurance.

Are Americans becoming idiots ? OR is it that Americans are becoming (more than ever) self involved and selfish assholes ? Maybe it's both ?

No. the ACA should be improved, not replaced. You tell me, do poor people that can't afford to pay what you pay for insurance deserve decent health care ?

What is America ? Are we the land of the greedy, and every man for himself ?

Humans should be advocating research to cure these conditions, but legacy media ad revnues depend on subsidized insurance to monetize them, and tovbot parrots the headlines.

For those just tuning in, this thread is yet another promotion of Obamneycare from tovbot, an owned subsidiary of PhRMA:

tovarichpeter says

my son, whose parents were divorced and had difficulty holding jobs, is now a biophysicist at Novartis

For more on PhRMA & Obamneycare, read how "Big Pharma colluded with the White House at the public's expense."

If PhRMA hadn't turned NIH into its own R&D department for daily pills, biophysicists might be able to work independently to invent new cures instead of PhRMA revenue models.

Even if not spam, tovbot threads illustrate the original Monty Python "spam" sketch.

If the answer to free speech is more speech, then the answer to tovbot's pro-Novartis threads might be this:

Prosecutors in Tokyo raided the offices of the Swiss drug maker Novartis on Wednesday as part of an investigation into the alleged use of manipulated data to promote its best-selling blood pressure drug Diovan.

Or this. It's tough to compete with a company that manipulates data, fakes documents, and bribes politicians, while its PAC lobbying manipulates government research budgets.

What if the rest of us can't afford to pay for the poor?
I am for health insurance for all, but only what we can afford. No elective surgeries, no viagra, generic drugs only.

What about too poor to cover the the insurance cost but not poor enough to get it all for free prexisting condition, does Obamacare cover that?
No they will let you die period.

Arguing that the ACA should not be totally trashed is not the same as defending every aspect of it or even saying that it's great.

It does two things that can not be denied. It forces coverage of preexisting conditions and it covers (subsidizes) low and medium low income people far better than a simple straight medicaid type programs.

IT subsidizes it, making it cheaper, and penalizing them if they don't buy it.

Actually you are making the argument for OBamacare. Becasue when it's removed, the situation you describe will go back to being the way things work. If you're poor enough to get medicaid you're good, otherwise you better be able to afford a super expensive plan. Nothing in between which there is with Obamacare.

I wonder how many people that voted for TRump, including TehDumbass, are going to be totally fucked by Obamacare going away (if it does). Stupid fucking republicans.
