wouldn't $50 billion be better spent on our infrastructure?

All $50 billion more on defense will do is strengthen the resolve of those who want to bring harm to us the US. What a waste.

Thats all large sums for individuals to consider.

Consider than US legal fees are $850B per year, and you then realize that we need the more work in any productive measure, which could have an ROI, and get the legal fees down so more work can be performed in education, small/medium company formation, R&D, Global Warming/ecology, manufacturing, and defense. Healthcare costs about $3.4T per year, where might increased efficiencies get realized here?

If we cut 33% of the legal fees and then instead applied this to the above, think how would our economy rebound, and jobs be created? $270B would be great for R&D, Manufacturing, company formation, and the like.

The budget of the US GDP is so large and misunderstood - that we have people more concerned about DoD increases of $50B, than the fact that $trillions are are malinvested and fleeced by powerful legal and medical fraternities.

A man is upset because two unpleasant things happened that week that must be addressed sooner than later:

1. His car had his door lock break, and a new lock costs $50. There have been more breakins in the area, so he must get the new lock.

2. A local government worker hires a firm to find out who is dodging business fees in his city. They contact your business, and you explain that your business is in the city next door, and you provide the business tax filing. The firm hired by the city sends a bill for $1000 for unpaid taxes, ignoring that your firm is in the city nextdoor. They threaten you with a collection agency.

Which is worth funding, and whats fair, legal, and ethical?
