If you like Sweet Jane, Cowboy Junkies did what Lou Reed called the "most authentic" version:

A bit slow for a Friday night though. Better to enjoy the nght:

Just stumbled on this. I like the original better, but this is an interesting take.

@Patrick, I think this is a good reason for PatNet not to try to automatically add a synopsis to a post that contains just a YouTube link. A simple video clip doesn't need text to describe anyway.

Yes, you're right.

OK, done. Will no longer try to extract quotes from Youtube or Vimeo links.

@Blurtman I got that on a CD it's the first album by Pink Floyd wearing mod clothing big collars and cuffs polka dots big belt buckles bell bottoms wide-wail corduroys, suede, fringe and flowers Heheheh.

And spoofed on Austin Powers. Syd Barret songs on the first one. Neil Young got into the Indian look in Buffalo Springfield.

Both as southern rock as it gets.

CCR is from the Bay Area, El Cerrito to be precise. Savoy Brown from across the pond.

I understand you aren't saying that you disagree

Nope. I was quite surprised to learn that CCR was not a southern band. Never would have pegged them to be a Bay Area band.

Exploring some of the more "obscure" Fleetwood Mac in their modern configuration. Tango in the Night - Never listened through this one before, but it was actually a huge album for the band, in spite of a coked-out Stevie Nicks. In many ways, Buckingham's re-purposed solo album. It's second biggest selling studio album, if you can believe it. Synthesizers were being widely adopted at the time. Can't say I can think of a smash hit off the album, but pleasant pop tunes, perhaps a tad over-produced.

Here's a pleasant tune:

I'm trying to find a recording of Iarla Ó Lionáird singing "Bog Braon" but it's gone from YouTube and doesn't seem available elsewhere.

Was stunningly excellent example of sean nós singing ("old style" in gaelic).

The other renditions of Bog Braon on YouTube are lame by comparison.

Glad you brought this one up. I myself am more partial to 'Mirage', their earlier and just as obscure album, but 'Tango in the Night' has a sort of Yuppie Safari Rock sound that I like in the way one likes mayonnaise on a Saltine cracker with Tobasco sauce. "Family Man" still gets me ready for a coke bump on the coffee table. "Little Lies" and "Everywhere" were almost huge at the time and I still think outshine some of the younger, more relevant music released at that time.
