Could turn you into a redneck?
Have a double, smoke a doobie, & kick some shit. YEE! HAW!
Should have taken John Mellencamp's advice.
"Forget all about that macho shit & learn to play guitar."
Todd is a musical genius. He throws off different musical styles seemingly without effort. Something about Philly and music, I guess.
Rocky Mountain Way was an epic hit record.
The lyric :"well he's telling us this & he's telling us that, changes it every day, says it doesn't matter.'
got my attention the first time I heard it,at 25 years old.
The bullshit never ends.lol
"Cause I don't have no use
For what you loosely call the truth
And I don't have the time
For your overloaded lines"
"Can't You See",one of my favorites.
Here's one for the alcoholics on a long holiday weekend.
Written by Robert Johnson.
I believe Elvin Bishop sang this.

I can remember being at parties, everyone looped & singing at the top of their voices
every drinking song anyone knew.
"Get in here now"

"I'll hang around as long as you let me"
Should be :I'll hang around as long as you can stand me.lol
Can't here you! SING OUT!

jazz,
Hadn't thought about this in quite awhile.
Couldn't remember the story behind it.
Trying to remember anything at this age is a miracle.
"Collins wrote the song amid the grief he felt after divorcing his first wife, Simone, in 1979. In a 2016 interview, Collins said of the song's lyrics: "I wrote the lyrics spontaneously. I'm not quite sure what the song is about, but there's a lot of anger, a lot of despair and a lot of frustration."[6] In a 1997 BBC Radio 2 documentary, the singer revealed that the divorce contributed to his 1979 hiatus from Genesis until the band regrouped in October of that year to record the album Duke."
jazz,
Glad you enjoyed it.
There is a lot of great music in all genres.
An employee of mine in the middle 70s had worked in the radio station at the U.of Georgia
he got all the free demo albums he wanted, that the station didn't play, for free. He had boxes & boxes.I have index cards with the albums & artist but have had very little success finding much on You Tube.Suppose I could do a more intensive search.
How much music has been totally forgotten?
And how dare you listen to anything other than the Top 40? rofl
MIDI file creation of rare music.
I will have to research this, thanks.
One can teach an old dog new tricks.
Totally not a Sony or Disney packaging job LOL.
The real deal. This tune made it onto the soundtrack of The Harder They Come which is a good collection of tunes by different artists. Early on, Toots and the Maytalls were a Carribbean doo-wop band.
Everyone's eminence front is their ego.

I missed this Stones VooDoo Lounge album when it came out in '94, and am just getting into it. I really like it. Lots of great tunes, best played loud.
Love is strong and you're so sweet
You make me hard you make me weak
Love is strong and you're so sweet
And some day, babe we got to meet

Sparks will fly
When I finally get myself back on you, baby
Sparks will fly
When I finally get myself back on you, baby
I'm gonna step on the gas
I want to get there really fast
I want to fuck your sweet ass
Sparks will fly
Sharks will cry
Sparks will fly
