Just spitballing. It seems to me that this is getting much more media coverage based on my anecdotal experiences. Also the discourse is much different. Nobody is saying this about the current affair, now we are worried that everybody is a white supremacists neonazi. Why are we just now scrutinizing a violent ideology? And why didn't we a year ago?

A guy who drives his car at high speed through a crowd is a highly emotional low on logic individual who has been pumped full of hatred and uses that hatred to justify his own repeated failure. To a person, I think that this generic sentence is true. Same goes for the failed losers who use Islam as a justification.
