You would think she would release such results if they confirmed her Indian ancestry claims. It is quite inexpensive to order this test, and quite easy to receive the reasonably accurate information. I am a white guy by appearance, but I could make a claim of Asian ancestry or perhaps even Crimean Tartar or Uzbek as some of my DNA is from the Stans.
I imagine Warren is on the horns of a liberal dilemma. She has come face-to-face with the fact that we treat US indians by a tougher standard than Indians south of the border. In the US, one cannot merely self-identify as Indian, you have to supply proof of tribal registry. But any Indian from south of the border, or anyone at all for that matter, can merely self declare that they are "Hispanic".
See, the problem is white men, and so we will make an unlevel playing field to fuck them over. This White Spaniard woman certainly got a lot of career mileage out of her surname. -------- What barriers/challenges do URM face in Research-Extensive Universities?
Within the historically White, male, upper-middle class field of the professoriate, the interlocking effects of sexism, racism, and classism contribute to unwelcoming work environments for URM faculty.
Why should universities focus on recruiting and retaining URM faculty? Bacause white men are just common, not unique and uninteresting/
URM faculty bring intellectual and pedagogical diversity to the academy due to their unique and specific backgrounds that shape how they teach, what they study, and their ability to nurture and mentor the next generation of students. Since URM faculty serve as role models for URM undergraduate and graduate students and those interested in important questions of race, class and ethnicity, without URM faculty, it is more difficult to recruit, retain, and graduate URM students.
The real racism is anti-Asian. In CA State Schools, you're seeing the real meritocracy, going on half Asian, because they're not allowed to discriminate racially in any way. Unlike Ivy League Universities.

Warren is an undocumented Indian, in essence.
What to do?
