SANTA CLARA COUNTY, Calif. – A female county probation counselor in Northern California was arrested Thursday. She is accused of having sex with two teenage boys who were incarcerated at a juvenile detention center while employed by the county. As a result, deputies took her into custody at her home in Santa Cruz. Female County Probation Counselor Facing 15 Felony Charges
Consequently, the woman appeared in court Friday. Tricia Caparra, 36, (pictured) faces 15 felony sexual assault charges, Santa Clara County prosecutors said. However, she did not enter a plea at her appearance.
Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office said Caparra was a probation counselor with the county in 2016 when she allegedly had sex on multiple occasions with a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old who were held at William F. James Boys Ranch in Morgan Hill, reported The Mercy News.
One of the victims reported the encounters Sept. 3, 2016, county officials said. Moreover, once the allegations were made, Caparra was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. Hence, the probation department confirmed she was barred from further contact with juveniles.
The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department conducted the criminal investigation, while the county probation department conducted an internal review. These are parallel investigations, but the criminal case always takes precedent.
Is Tricia Caparra going to get a more lenient sentence than Anthony Weiner, who did not even meet in person nor have sex with the underage girl that entrapped him?
Is Tricia Caparra going to get a more lenient sentence than Stanford's Brock Turner, who was convicted on some very flimsy evidence and a carefully rehearsed sob-story ttestimony by the alleged victim?
Will enraged feminist Stanford law professor Michele Dauber complain loudly if Tricia Caparra is convicted but not properly punished for 15 acts for rape?
