They should have learned from Duck Dynasty. Don't use White Christian Family Values as the running Gag and America's punchline.
They wished like hell they never found the Robinson family once they took off. America was supposed to laugh at the stupid yocal hayseeds.
Or the producers expected them to be wrought with inner demons and dysfunctional family issues like happened with all of those Chopper Builder shows.
Jesse James and the Tuttels underwent divorces while production of their shows. They were banking on the fame corrupting their family values. It never happened so they got mad and started calling them racists.

Still, our government DID fucking go after the native Americans, and did kill them, but at the same time, they also went after the colonists and settlers. There's no cut and dry "good guy" when murder is involved. This is why speaking to people to understand their point of view, and their understanding is so important. Almost all violence can be prevented if you simply talk to the other person and understand their grievances and they can understand yours.
I think frequently people in conflicts are BOTH right, and it turns out it's some asshole called "the government" is secretly saying "why don't you and him fight?".

They expected the show to bomb, by the way. Her tweet was just an excuse to cancel it after the first season as planned; they didn't expect it to be so strong.
The idea was for the show to do poorly to mediocre so they could say "We don't have to change our programming and bias, since Roseanne didn't do well with the Middle/Working White American demographic. The future is Democrat!"
