Yes, ever since same sex marriage issues came out, I thought just have Civil Unions for all, and marriage is between people and their church.

My view of it is simple. Society banned prostitution because it leads to destruction of society. Uncontrolled sexual behavior spreads diseases, destroys communities and families. Human race learned this the hard way. It’s stupid to repeat that mistake.

As for as getting the government out of marriage, this would fix so many problems! Make it a religious thing only and have the government treat individuals as ... individuals! If your religion allows for 3-way (or n-way) marriages, go for it! The government doesn't care. Or even marry a farm animal if that's your thing.

As far taxing religion, I think the easy middle-ground would be to just treat religion as any other form of entertainment. If I play a round of golf every Sunday morning starting at 9:00 AM I don't get a tax deduction for the greens fees or membership in the country club; if I go to a designated building and listen to someone drone on and on and on about make-believe every Sunday morning starting at 9:00 AM I shouldn't get a tax deduction for "donations" to that form of "entertainment" either.

What do you mean ... uncontrolled?! Does paying $200/hr sound like having 'no control'. If anything, it limits sex to those hard working guys who're willing to save for a rainy day, or in this case, a horny day.
