Seriously, why do some basket-cases receive special treatment at the expense of everyone around them. If you are over-stressed by flying and cannot not do it without a Doberman in your lap, do not fly. I think this is just an excuse for special pet privileges.
I agree with your sentiment. The reality is that anyone getting anxious about a commercial airline flight should probably be in some sort of hospital. They’re not normal people and most certainly are a drag on society. But hey, be a pussy and bring your dog on THE safest mode of transportation. Including walking.
I agree with Nut though, if it’s a move, that’s about the only acceptable reason. I’ve been flying a lot more lately and the amount of dogs in airports is staggering. More and more pet horror stories on the actual flight are going to keep happening if the rules don’t change. And I like dogs. So no bias there. Use a kennel or family or friends.
They’re not normal people and most certainly are a drag on society.
Unfortunately, I don't think the not normal part holds true anymore. Between cellphones, social media, cities, and the terrible practice of multi-tasking/never focusing, people are becoming increasingly unstable. Couple that with an out of control pharma industry prescribing Schedule One narcotics to pre-schoolers, and the new norm becomes jittery schizos bringing Cujo on every flight.
