First picture in the article shows kids each with an iPad-like device. Call me old-fashioned, but aren't paper-based books the better approach to actually learning stuff? And, wouldn't a "real" computer (with mouse and keyboard) be a whole lot more useful at doing work? The only benefit of an iPad is that it's portable — not something you need when sitting at a desk studying. For the sake of my stock portfolio, I want schools to spend as much money on Apple products, but I've never really heard of good results coming from touch devices for, basically, any task at all other than passively watching videos.
