Not about being a big boy. It's about playing the game. Every persons situation is different. Vastly different. Cash back on a spend isn't always the best option. Points, benefits, etc. vary greatly. It's not a knock either. Take $200 where you can get it, kudos to anyone that does as long as they aren't paying interest.

Sorry, cut the comment short. There are a ton of details needed. Local airport. Work. Salary. Expense reports or company card. I don't want any of this info from Patnet users by the way, but to play the the CC game, it does take some work. There are plenty of sites that lay it all out though.

All I'll say is anyway you can get a Companion Pass if you're near a Southwest hub, you can make bank if you have the free time. I have a spreadsheet and this year I booked $8,000+ in airfare for free (international fees are included here, but everyone has to pay that anyway and it was only 6RT tickest out of 24 total).

Throw on another card with lounge access and you can skip paying $9/beer and $18/burger if your local airport has lounges. Mine doesn't unfortunately. These usually come with high annual fees, but usually there are a bunch of credits and shit you can utilize and the annual fee is close to a wash. If you travel enough and can use lounges enough, you'll probably pay for the annual fee regardless drinking 20 beers over a year at the airport.

Yes, but the card is awesome. I don't bank at Chase, although I did open accounts when they had a cash incentive, then recently closed them.

Why I like this card is that you get $200 just for using it for $500 in charges. I don't need to, but since they are offering, you also get more than a free year of interest free purchases. You also get 1.5% cash back on all purchases. Use it as a statement credit, and whatever you bought for $500 just got 40% cheaper.

This is the perfect card for people who don't revolve credit, for every day type purchases and recurring bills. I use other cards, like a Chase Amazon card to get 3% back on all Amazon purchases. And for additional discounts, like at American Eagle, I use AEO's connected store Visa card, since I get 10-20% additional discounts just for using their card. It all depends on the situation, but times are changing to where stores are literally drawing people in with cash back and discounts on using their cards, or by doing other promotions through carriers like Chase. It is an interest trap for those who can't pay them off, but if you can and have good credit, the Freedom Unlimited is the way to go.

So at least check out the link that I posted. It's a real offer.

I didn't even mention the extra benefits. They have very generous buyer protections. They do the standard collision waiver on rental cars, but they also do automatic warranty extensions and a whole bunch of stuff like free travel cancellations.

Seriously, if you qualify, you will want this one. They are doing a referral/affiliate type program, which is why I am sharing, but it is something that I chose, on my own, in comparison shopping. I'm actually a believer, as well.

Well, with the Chase Freedom Unlimited card, you can do all of that interest free for at least a year. You also get $200 back after your first $500 of debauchery.

It's definitely not a bad card. My wife and I each have our own. There's just better out there. Just depends on your cashflow and making sure you can pay it off and avoid the interest. And of course your expenses. I'm balls deep in research on this right now. Going to Europe next fall I believe and trying to set it up for free airfare over there. Specifically first class for the wife and I and the kids can sit in economy. Just did 4 hours and 20 minutes to/from San Juan, PR mid October. That's about my limit in coach/economy. Not a chance in hell I can do 9 hours to Austria like that.
