Anecdotally, every doctor I know - hates dealing with Medicare.

I would support extending a form of Medicare down to the age of 50, possibly by seeding through extending the Veterans Administration. After 50 is when the vast majority of horrors around medical expense take place in the productive population.

However, when people see the large chunks taking wing from their paychecks even for that, I doubt there will be real support. The 'free shit' hand waving is everything.
