Does the State provide guidelines? Will you be doing E-commerce, or they worried someone might say fag and queer, and misgender Mike Obama?
Download "User Information" from where?
Do you mean from a web form they filled out, or to extract it somehow without their knowing?

I'm not an expert at this BUT isnt it pretty easy to work within this regulation?
Heres an example of what you guys are discussing : https://www.assurance.com/ccpa-opt-out
Seems easy no?
What happens if you are not compliant? Isn’t internet free and unregulated?
It is common among marketing experts that it takes 7 touches to keep a good relationship with your customers.
All the information I have of my users are, of course, stored in a database. If I was to get a flood of requests, I would have to go in and find all the relevant information and then what? I would have to write it all down and snail mail or email it to them? Wouldn't it be much faster and better if I could simply code a way for it to be retrieved and downloaded to the requester's computer?
This does sound like an awesome wordpress plugin though.
Code the solution, then sell it at $97/month for every large CA sales business. Take that shit to every auto dealer, etc... in CA.
I hate how California has all these extra requirements to do biz in their state, even if you are out of state. Same thing with the EU trying to make US businesses pay tax on eproducts and stuff. Insanity. Most of the online entrepreneurs I know just plan on ignoring these regulations are they are unenforceable. They would rather just pay a fine later if it came to that.

The CCPA has fines of $2500 - $7500 per user.

I'm having trouble believing that there are enough WordPress users for something like this to be marketable.

Succinct and to the point; perfect.
There are at least 3 career software(?) developers on Patrick.net.
Do any of you have experience in helping companies gain CCPA compliance? Or do you
have advice on how to go about becoming compliant?
Thanks in advance
