I saw my brother for the first time in 4 months. He was a delivery driver who delivers food all over NYC, North Jersey, Philly, and sometimes Maryland. Turns out, he got Corona in February. He lost his sense of taste and smell and occasionally had trouble breathing for 3 weeks. But since he couldn’t taste anything, he apparently just consumed habanero peppers left and right to open up his nasal passage and have the air come flying in. He said he could barely taste the spice. He said it was just annoying...nothing more. The vast majority of the population can function with this stupid virus.

Simple straightforward policy would be:

If you are overweight, diabetic, high blood pressure, etc.... shelter in place. We could even fund their unemployment.
Everyone else, get back to work.
Guard nursing homes with extra precautions.

Sounds similar to my experience 2 weeks before him. It's that loss of smell that has me convinced. I pick up everything multiple times a year and never ever experienced that. Some of the other symptoms were unusual as well. That's why I think I got it again 6 months later, I didn't lose my sense of smell the 2nd time. (Also learned how most people don't make antibodies for more that a month)

He can and he will. Fauci is going to be Trump's Covid scapegoat, and for valid reasons. You can't fire the top person during a pandemic. Media would torch him and he knows it. The guy has made mistake after mistake and I have a hunch that Trump has dirt on him. He's going to wait until the timing is right and fire him showing links to big pharma and how he gave bad advice. Trump will literally be able to blame the entire Covid response on Fauci and it's going to look awful for Fauci. The guy is a deer in headlights every interview I see the last month or so.

On one issue alone Fauci has failed massively. If masks were effective, even homemade cloth ones, then he failed. He told us not to wear them. And if it was out of fear of masks running out for health professionals, then he lied. He's in a lose lose situation. He knew it was an airborne virus and we've studied masks of all types before this pandemic. It won't change my vote, but frankly I'm pissed he hasn't been fired yet, hence why I think it's a timing play by Trump.

You can see it in Fauci's eyes and his demeanor. He knows he's done.

Many countries don't track covid deaths and many only those from covid not with covid. At the end of the day life expectancy matters (ideally not while being a veggie) - who gives a shit what peole are dying off. And here, esp. since Covid mostly kills the oldest it's not even a blip.
