Even if it were totally secure (yeah, right), that doesn't say anything about the possibilities for vote buying. Have you ever noticed that voting booths are theoretically "private"? That's for two reasons: You won't be beat up for voting for Trump and you can't prove you voted some way, so vote-buyers are thwarted because they can't verify ... just collect your bribe but vote for Trump anyway.

Vote-by-mail has major impacts at the local level here in California, as just a moderate amount of ballot harvesting can tip the scales.

For all these reasons and more, vote-by-mail has correctly been seen as an enormous mistake by developed countries.

I don't want my postman to cast my ballot for me; I want to do that myself, it's my right to.
