I am old enough that when I was a kid, I had a great grandmother that started out riding to school in a horse and buggy and fully believed the moon landing was a hoax and I can't blame her.

The next generation had grown up doing laundry by hand and beating carpets outside to clean them who were young adults during the Great Depression.

The next generation grew up having seen the last bits of the Great Depression and complete modernization. THEIR grandparents told them "life has become so easy" and life continued to get easier.

To them, life was just continual improvement and I'd argue that went on until our Reichstag fire which was on September 1, 2001. People are afraid to face the evil of their government to the point they will deny it exists. Our nation ruthlessly attacked 7 nations in the last 20 years. It was done for multiple reasons, to control resources in order to prop up the dollar for example, for the benefit of foreign nations like Israel, but here's one you may not have thought of - for practice, against us.

I agree with the second part, not the first. The US is not the superpower anymore and they know it, plenty of countries have nuclear arsenal and high-tech tactical weapons. They won't be intimidated unless infiltrated from within. You can go to Poland right now and say whatever you want that is in the conservative realm and they don't even have much of a military (aside from narwhal tusks). You can always claim it's not real, just a cover up, a honeypot, whatever, I think Patrick has some good ideas on how to lessen unwanted influence maybe make something good out of it, you seem smart.
