$278.25/sh +18.25 (+7.02%) As of 9:59AM EST. Market open.

Funny, my brother is always asking me for “stock tips” since I told him about ROKU at the IPO.

So I mentioned RBLX and he bought a couple grand worth of it that day.

I only said it might be interesting but his son has students who use it for games so he went for it.

I’m going to have to find other things to try after I sell my GME shares.

If I had balls, I'd put a couple hundred k on this.

I wouldn't do that. You could easily end up without those balls.

That is, unless you know something, or have some special insight.

This looks like a classic straddle trade setup, using options.

In other words, there's both price action and volatility so one can buy both a put & call option with reasonable pricing and thus, if it continues its ride up, you make money and if it crashes, you do the same.

Here, it's unlikely that the price will settle in the middle where you lose money paying for the options.
47   Patrick   2021 Mar 15, 3:53pm

Makes sense. But if other people are doing this, maybe the price of those options has been bid up to the point where it's unlikely to be profitable now.

Or maybe there is still profit to be had.

I had a visit with my childhood friend.
We spent our summers spear fishing, sailing, and scuba diving along with the other misadventures of youth.
He’s got a good job he can do from anywhere using web access.
Owns a house in New England for summers and just got one in Florida.
But, he’s paying $4,000/month rent in Boston and who knows what in Massachusetts income tax.
Why? His wife and daughter want to be near each other to care for the grandchild.
I estimated he pays $75,000/year so his wife can be a babysitter.

This has nothing to do with GME; but if I lose money on my gamble, at least I can think of a guy losing much more, and his loss is avoidable with no possible upside.
49   EBGuy   2021 Mar 25, 3:25pm

I panicked yesterday and sold my three shares. This is what happens when you don't HODL -- an upgrade!
50   clambo   2021 Mar 25, 5:26pm

I don’t know the future.
But if GME was once $400/share I’m gonna hodl until it’s 400 again.
I might be waiting longer than my lifespan however.
51   joshuatrio   2021 May 25, 2:09pm

Broke $200 today. We seeing the second squeeze in the next few days/weeks????
52   clambo   2021 May 25, 2:45pm

Yeah baby.
53   EBGuy   2021 May 25, 5:14pm

AMC closes above $16. Fasten your safety belts...
54   EBGuy   2021 May 27, 5:53pm

AMC closes at $26.5. Did not HODL. May have to join the shorts at some point.
55   joshuatrio   2021 May 27, 6:21pm

GME @ 254.

If I had bigger balls I could have made a killing on this.

Instead I put $30k on petroleum stocks. Up $20k in about a month.
56   clambo   2021 May 27, 6:26pm

I only have 30 GME and I wish I had rolled the dice bigly, but I guess I’m just too cautious.
I activated margin at Vanguard and I could have gambled a lotta dough on it.

Maybe someday there will be something else that is so interesting.
57   Dholliday126   2021 May 27, 6:26pm

Institutional doesn't like to go into a long weekend worring about their shorts, so they they go neutral, so the garbage might take off. If so, plan on Tuesday is to buy an atm put expiring friday on the dog shit names.
58   Booger   2021 May 27, 6:35pm

Everything is going nuts now. Even some genuinely shitty stocks are overpriced now too.
59   Patrick   2021 May 27, 7:47pm

I think it might be increased expectations of inflation driving the stock market up.

Agree. Roaring 20's??

I agree with this as well.
61   clambo   2021 May 28, 6:09am

The stock market is an attractive alternative to bonds, so stocks continue to rise.
This is because interest rates are not that high.

There are guys around the world who have “new money” coming in every month. They're rich.

They decide what they want to buy: 1. Bonds 2. Stocks
Lately they’re buying stocks.

Of course there are bullshit non profitable companies that rise too, sometimes index funds and ETFs own the crap too.
62   joshuatrio   2021 Jun 1, 1:09pm

GME back to $250. Sheesh.

$LPI oil stock, I'm up double in about 2 months. Insanity. This was my biggest play yet.

Everything I own today is green.

Not sure how long this'll last.
63   Patrick   2021 Jun 1, 11:19pm

I do worry that any significant rise in rates will hit the stock market very hard, but I can't think of any other reasonable place to put money at the moment.
64   joshuatrio   2021 Jun 2, 5:00am

Still got my original sell order in at 1000 for GME. If I hit it, great, if not hodl.

Silver.
66   clambo   2021 Jun 2, 6:40am

My Swiss stock ETF is doing okay so far.
FLSW.
I'm putting some of my GME winnings there when I sell my shares.
67   AmericanKulak   2021 Jun 7, 9:21pm

Holy shit, it's still in the triple digits.

Wow.
68   joshuatrio   2021 Jun 8, 6:31am

GME at $293...
69   clambo   2021 Jun 8, 7:03am

I think the Bible says money for no work is evil. I guess when I shuffle off my mortal coil they’re sending me down to Hades.
😈
70   joshuatrio   2021 Jun 8, 7:15am

It's running. $331.
71   Patrick   2021 Nov 3, 11:43pm

Lol, still causing pain for the shorts:

Wow. That's fantastic. Forgot I even owned GME till you bumped this thread Patrick.
73   clambo   2021 Nov 4, 5:24am

I fucking love my GME.
I wish I had rolled the dice and bought 100 grand worth of it.
Meanwhile, I’m twiddling my thumbs waiting for shitty BABA to go up a bit so I can “domp eet!”
Neither is a lot of my money.
At least I don’t have any ridiculous Bitcoin, how I hate losers telling me to buy it.
I’m tempted to tell them what I really think, but I bite my tongue and say “uh-huh, yeah, Bitcoin....”
Call me prince Harry, I changed the subject to myself.

Yeah, discussing BTC intelligently is annoying. Until the person you're talking with realizes it's a MLM scheme and the bottom WILL fall out, it's not a conversation worth having.

If they understand what it is and trade in and out or play with house money, then a conversation can be had. Otherwise I've stopped on all crypto threads here for the most part. It's all just pumping. I played in penny stocks years ago, joined forums, the language and attitude is no different. Everyone knows they're going to lose their ass, but they are hoping to time it and try to sell it to everyone else as they walk out the door.

Falsification of history on Yahoo Finance:

They say the high for that date is 120.75. I know it was at least 330 on that date, because I sold there.

So now why are they lying about the past?
