Mossy Oak rifles look "Granddad's Hunting Cabin".
The anti gun campaigns that liberals promote has exactly the opposite effect.
I myself became a gun owner over the past year because of it.
A .22LR Pistol with Personal Defense/Hollow Points can certainly penetrate denim, go on to break ribs, and mushroom inside soft tissue doing a job on somebody at about 20 feet. They almost never penetrate past the back tissue, great choice for penetration prevention.

Starting at 7 Minutes, Harrell demonstrates the power of .22LR at 100 yards, fired from the classic Ruger 10/22 carbine. His typical meat target with denim layer, pork rib 'pectorals', etc.

I'm confused. Are you for or against 22LR for defense?
Mossy Oak rifles look "Granddad's Hunting Cabin". 10/22 Ruger in plain wood or mossy oak pattern should be anybody's first purchase along with a shitload of rounds (500+) and at least 4 or 5 hi cap Mags.

I'm quite for it. It's certainly better than "Engaging with Nothing". I'd rather have a different round if I knew I'd be in combat situations frequently, but for portability, cost, and shots downrange, not to mention smaller, lighter platforms, the .22LR can't be beat. 1/10th the cost of 5.56mm.
The low pen, low recoil, and high ammo capacity of .22LR make it great for women and youth in home defense, too.
Funny. I took my wife to the range 2 days ago. We took the 22LR and the 9mm handgun. She wanted to shoot the 9mm...didn't even want to shoot the 22LR. I was surprised.
At least seven Afghan pilots, including Zamaray, have been assassinated off base in recent months, according to two senior Afghan government officials. This series of targeted killings, which haven’t been previously reported, illustrate what U.S. and Afghan officials believe is a deliberate Taliban effort to destroy one of Afghanistan’s most valuable military assets: its corps of U.S.- and NATO-trained military pilots.
In so doing, the Taliban -- who have no air force -- are looking to level the playing field as they press major ground offensives.
Got my AR yesterday. Kills me buying new ammo at current prices. Need to find somebody to trade 9mm for 556.

Why? When I can buy them later when all sales are conducted on the black market and thus I won't have to register it.
From playing Paintball, I learned a couple of useful things about combat:
- When you run out of ammo, you die.
- Ammo is heavy, and too much if it bogs you down.
- Watch out for the Vietnamese guy.
