I stopped using Amazon about two years ago when they attempted to get my bank to turn over personal financial information without my consent. My bank(an AZ credit union at the time), refused, and I dropped my account, and refused all Amazon deliveries from that point on.

There's nothing on Amazon I can't find somewhere else.

Yeah, I don’t use Amazon.
People are largely unaware that China has factories in prisons which make a large array of products for export.
It’s impossible to compete with slave labor.

Bezos devastated American manufacturing and retail by facilitating mass imports from China

Patrick, this is what is wanted.. They want you to hate Bezos and walmart. That's the wrong take though. Bezos is doing what the market demands. The market is demanding cheaper labor, and finding the legal ways to get it. The problem here is we are allowing the cheap labor in China to be exploited to the detriment of our system, and to the benefit of the chinese communist party.

The only correct solution to this problem is to end the income tax (so that the individual isn't the one fighting the tax system), and implement import tariffs. This isn't "protectionist". These tariffs should be subject to the following 2 conditions: equivalent EPA/OSHA rulesets that the manufacturers of imported goods must follow, and equivalent wage controls to what is required in the US. If the products don't meet these conditions, they aren't banned from entry, they are tariffed at a rate high enough to mitigate the damage (and fund the government).

But not the free market. Bezos didn't come out of nowhere, and I can definitely see a benefit to a one world government having a single retailer for all purchases. If free market were entirely unfettered, Amazon would be outclassed by smaller retailers who can offer better products, and better service, and his share would be much smaller than it is.

I concur, it was not the free market that made Bezos rich.

It was the government's betrayal of the American working class by allowing Bezos to be the middleman for mass imports from China without those pesky labor laws or environmental laws.

The US minimum wage cannot compete with the Chinese minimum wage, nor can US environmental laws compete with Chinese lack of environmental laws.

The US government should act for the benefit of the majority of Americans, but it did not. It acted for the benefit of oligarchs.

The INVISIBLE HAND is PERFECT! even when it's knifing Americans in the face and ripping out their eyes.

Bezos won and humanity came in second - or someone else will defeat Bezos, send him to a grisly death and murder and rape all of his pathetic wives and serfs and seize his rockets and take control of the wealth of the universe and exploit every last atom for maximal profit and use the revenues to find God and strangle him and smell the sweet wonder of His last breath and enjoy ULTIMATE VICTORY!

This is what America is all about.

Each and every one of us must dedicate our lives to TOTAL DOMINATION of all living things and every exploitable atom everywhere for all time forever and achieve singular, ultimate sovereignty over all beings and all matter and all anti-matter that is, has been or will be, now and forever and all times.

Anything else is to embrace failure and subjugation.

America is about choice.

Choose to be the man who Bezos will beg to rip out his eyes and skull fuck him to death so that he can experience real power before his miserable pathetic life is snuffed out by a real man, exactly as the founding fathers envisioned.

John Kenneth Galbraith wrote somewhere that environmental regulations and the like are usually suggested to Congressmen by large corporations as a way to hobble their smaller competitors.

The problem is public.
All American men run after money as that is required to fetch girlfriend and girlfriend is highly materialistic.

This won't be as bad in some other countries where pride and equality is more valued than "products" you own.
I have seen Europeans care more about vacation than compensation..and they seem better off.
(They also live in small apartments and drive not too fancy cars.. some of them can really upgrade their materialistic profile if they come to US, But they don't)
