I bought an item online and when i entered the address i mixed up the numbers...instead of typing 3747 i typed 3447 and it was delivered yesterday to 3447 and left on the porch. So I figured I'd go ask the people at 3447 if they happened to have my package and i google mapped it and that address doesn't even exist. Question is: where was it delivered by FEDEX? They said it was delivered.
Tell em you didn't get it and if they don't send you a new one then charge back. Let the company battle with FedEx. A good reason to use credit cards, esp. since you can choose from so many vendors if one pisses you off. This also helps when the vendor you ordered from is making problems, you just tell them once to fix it by a certain date and if not fixed you'll charge back. Don't waste your time with automated "customer service" on hold, which got even worse with covid! when you thought it couldn't get worse. Pick a cc company that let's you do charge backs online via simple form and roll with it. Makes everything much easier.
I've had stuff delivered to the wrong address before, not by any mistake I made. Most companies you order from will re-send the item without much question. If that doesn't work, a dispute with your cardholder usually works. Tried ordering some custom Nike's from some contracting site, and the artist was crazy flaking. Opened a dispute with my bank, sent them an email transcript of the conversation proving I never got the item, and got a refund right away.
Just tell them you called and updated the address. Phone support is notoriously unreliable, they'll likely just accept your story.
