Congrats! Just got back from TX and flying/airport is now maskless. It was good to freely cough again and watch the mask holes squirm! Thanks Florida judge, and a wommyn of all genders - let freedom ring!
Maybe move it if nobody can come. I can make it but it's still a decent drive from me so seems like it's only Rich, Ceffer and Pat at this point? Although 4 is a crowd

I'm definitely out. I've said too much about my life here, so can't just go the the wife "I'm flying out to California to meet up with people I don't know on a forum."
I will try to meet up at some point, but it has to be on a planned trip, with or without family. There just has to be a different reason for going. Every trip we take it's pretty easy to get 2-3 hours of me time, so I could sneak out for a lunch. I'll be in San Diego next fall around labor day. No other plans to get out there anytime this year though. I will be in Bozeman, MT for 5 days around September 9. That's about as far west as I'll be this year so far. Maybe a Phoenix trip if my buddies want to do some late fall golfing out there early December.
Wife is in Buffalo, NY now. So not jealous based off her feedback so far. Still boggles my mind how that place has an NFL franchise. Same could be said for Green Bay I suppose.

I agree. @ceffer @richwicks Should we do it some other time?

I got plenty to do so I wouldn't mind moving it either to a later weekend

That would be fine I think either way. I am somewhat controlled by spousal unit on my social agendas, so it would have to be on a day of planned prison furlough (just kidding). I don't imbibe, but the location offers food and alternatives so that is OK. I can pick richwicks up if he likes, but he seems to be an independent soul, the John Muir of public transportation in Silicon Valley.
The further south it goes the less attractive it's for us to drive unless we have other business down in the bay. Drake's though would work and is quite closer than Fieldworks

Closer for me too. Six blocks from BART. Right across from the Oakland YMCA. Haven't been there for a while but parking has been a problem in the past. Before the pandemic I went to that Y regularly. Haven't been there for years but your car was always at risk before and probably hasn't got any better.
I bought a hot dog and a dark beer at Drakes once and it was pretty good. The crowd there were yuppy and friendly.
I'm completely open. Just please, no San Francisco. I can smell that city. I'm from NY (upstate) and whenever I went to NYC, I could smell that fucking sewer, no matter where I was. That's San Francisco today.
San Jose isn't so bad, I don't know that area very well, but I know there's lots of places there. Tied House is gone. That's very south, but Bart, Amtrak and Caltrain converge there.
Anything but yuppie, mostly older blue collar workers and people that grew up here. Good people. I love dive bars. People are adult enough to have a conversation and share their experience. Yuppies, they just stick to their own group, no conversation.
I hate yuppies. If there was a transporter beam and it didn't matter where the location was, I'd recommend this place:
Why? Who gives a shit? At least yuppies don't steal, commit violent crimes or shit into the streets. I'm all for yuppies when it makes the place cleaner

They are superficial thinkers. When people talk about "useless eaters", what the useless eaters really are, are yuppies, not the blue collar. I can have a more involved and interesting discussion with a mechanic, a plumber, or electrician than I can with a PhD in electrical engineering. It's a mistake to think they aren't educated, they were just the first to realize they were being brainwashed and got fed up with it.
They aren't cut off from other people to the extent we eggheads are. They have a network of communication. For example, want to get out of a ticket? Know the NAME of the Chief of Police in wherever you got pulled over and ask the officer "Would it make a difference if I know X?". You're a bit older than I am, but I bet you never knew that trick, but I do, because I know plenty of blue collar workers.
Don't make a threat, just ask. And if the answer is "no, it doesn't matter a damned bit" - oh well, you're no worse off.

You don't need to talk to them you talk to the people from patnet, also yuppies is just another label. As long as they leave you alone...
There's a Drake's Brewery in Oakland I think is nice
COVID POLICY UPDATE
Due to the spread of the Omicron Variant, Drakes Dealership now requires Proof of Full Vaccination and a current ID (school IDs accepted) for anyone 12 years of age or older to enter our Beer Garden and indoor spaces as of February 1st.
So that's a "Fuck no, and I will never set foot in it" from me. Probably was a nice place.
Seriously? I thought there are no retarded businesses left requiring the jab. Even in SF it's pretty much gone. Let's find another one in Oakland or Alameda. Like speisekammer in Alameda

Well, I just checked Plank, they "require proof of vaccination of all people that will be inside the building", but there's a beer garden outside - it's run next to Jack London Square:
https://goo.gl/maps/BqC9ggvB2Pzbcnoe7
But as my feeling is, fuck all of Oakland. Seems to be an area mandate. Could we possibly meet at a park or something? It's a HUGE imposition on @Patrick, but we could meet at his place again if he's willing, and he shouldn't feel at all obligated to host us, but if he does, I will bring beer, and I'll even buy pizza this time, and by pizza, I mean food from Amici's not that shit that the DNC appears to be into.
That's if anybody actually liked Amici's - it's NY pizza.
If we meet at Patrick's - I'll bring two growlers - anybody want to have the bottles when they are empty? If we meet at Patrick's I also demand to pay for the pizzas. I'm in a fuck the world mode. A growler is basically a pitcher of beer. They are reusable.
Not certain what they have on tap at the moment, but the Ah Limin is on tap and I think most people liked what they were able to get before I drank it.
Little hard to stagger to from Jack London Square also I just checked two places in Oakland and they both require proof of vaccination. I'd jerk off with 50 grit sandpaper while using a straight razor for a dildo up my ass before I put up with that.
I'll suggest this place again which is in Sunnyvale - this is where I'd pick up the growlers.
This is super unfairly convenient for me though - but I just called, no vaccination policy. If the food sucks there (I have no idea how it is now) there's the rest of the street to wander on. It's right next to the Caltrain station. The locale isn't as nice as any of the other places that were mentioned previously, but it's a fairly nice area.
You can party without me if necessary. A long trip like that has to be weighed thoroughly. I like Patrick's place but al currently slammed with work, trading, baby and more

I'm a bit overbooked until the end of May myself. Onvacation says
Sounds good to me. Send me a reminder notice in late spring if I forget.
Summer starts June 21. Maybe put it off till early June?

The ad hominems haven't been the same without him.
OK, let's say 1:15 pm to 4 pm at on Saturday April 30th at Fieldwork Brewing in San Mateo, 3030 South Delaware Street, San Mateo, CA 94403.
https://fieldworkbrewing.com/san-mateo/?source=patrick.net
I picked 1:15pm because the northbound Caltrain gets into Hillsdale station at 1:08pm on weekends. Fieldwork is pretty close to the Hillsdale station.
Field Work in San Mateo is a cool place. I’m no longer in that area but hope you guys have a great time.
If enough people cant go maybe we can schedule it a little later?
If not, everyone have fun and I will be at the next one, hopefully before another million posts.
I really enjoyed the last couple. Even though RichWicks is a bit of a loud drunk I still find him entertaining.
@RichWicks That was meant as a compliment.
I'm taking the train. I COULD walk, but I'm not going to walk that far. It's like 20 miles.
I have walked between Palo Alto and Mountain View before - got off at the wrong stop, and I was like "fuck it".

I'm toning it down.. - but that is a proper assessment. I'm not offended when you observe reality.

Whenever works for me. I do not object to it being moved
Yes
I'm going to throw out some other possible locations just to consider:
There's a Drake's Brewery in Oakland I think is nice, but I don't know how difficult it is for people to get to. I can get to it:
https://drinkdrakes.com/places/dealership/?source=patrick.net
Bit of a walk from Bart/Amtrak, but not horrible. It WAS a dealership, now it's a beer garden. It's not too far from the Amtrack station.
This is in Sunnyvale, right next to Caltrain:
https://www.offtherailsbrewing.com/?source=patrick.net
They are OK. I don't know about the food though. There's the entire street as well if the food and/or beer is disappointing. It's a little area.
Palo Alto is a crowded nightmare to me, and so is Mountain View, but I'll cope if people prefer them.
@Patrick - you're in Menlo Park aren't you? Any place there you like? Once I have to get on a train, it doesn't matter to me.
The further south it goes the less attractive it's for us to drive unless we have other business down in the bay. Drake's though would work and is quite closer than Fieldworks

No blue collar worker has ever virtue signaled to me.
They just assume I'm an egghead moron, and maybe I am to them. There's several different levels of intelligence.
So that's a "Fuck no, and I will never set foot in it" from me. Probably was a nice place.
Yep, FUCK THEM, I'm in 1000% agreement. I used to like that place, now I'm boycotting it for life.
Relying on 'penis intelligence' has never worked out well for me.

One good thing is that it's not a far walk from Palo Alto or Menlo Park Caltrain.

Maybe @richwicks @Onvacation and myself could share an Uber or Lyft from down here.

It's theoretically possible for @richwicks and myself to get to Martinez by Amtrak, and there seem to be a lot of brewpubs near that station.
It would take about 2 hours each way, but sitting on Amtrak is a lot more pleasant than sitting in a car.
@Ceffer would have the longest trip though.
