Gonzalo Lira is still kicking it? Wow....hadn't seen/read anything from him for several years now.

He was kidnapped and killed by SBU in Kharkiv back in April-May, iirc. Predicted it too.

And Gonzalo Lira was right all along.

That's why Biden and Zelensky killed him.
6   Ceffer   2024 Jan 12, 6:11pm

They said he was dead one other time. I wonder if he was just Intel, and the Ukraine gig is up, so they martyred the character and the agent is elsewhere.

He never acted like a real journalist. He was pretty pro-Russkie, although an antidote to the typical egregious Ukie propagandas.

One could see this coming, right?
12   Onvacation   2024 Jan 18, 4:18pm

At least they didn't cut him into pieces like that Khashoggi dude.

What does this mean? He didn't repeat CIA talking points and lie to the public constantly? That's what "real" journalists do today.

I read that Gonzalo had a youtube channel called CRPArchives. Fyi.

What difference does it make? He didn't even need to be there. It's 2024. Information is coming out of Ukraine on its own via the internet... I also don't believe any American journalist unless they've video taped the wrong doing and it's provably not AI or heavily edited. O'kefee style or whatever his name is.

Fact is if Ukrainians are willing to die for their country, let them. This is war of Russian insecurity and so far it has played out that way. They know they're vulnerable. I'd kill Canadians in a heart beat if they rolled into my town and invaded. There are plenty of Canadian expats in the northern part of the country, especially the midwest because that's where the hockey money is. Is anyone fine with them taking over northern Minnesota? That's literally the excuse Russia is using.

Or Mexican cartels come in force and try to take our border states? I'm sure you'd all just put up with that, right? That's what the Wagner group was basically. We would take any outside assistance and squash them in either scenario. I don't know what this guy thought he was "reporting" on. No one should really even care about that part of the world. It will be in perpetual war for the rest of your lifetimes.

Sucks if he had a family. But he played a dumb game probably just to get recognition for what everyone that watches this war knew. There was no news to report.

His ex-wife is Ukrainian, that's why he was there.

I wouldn't have a problem with this mindset, if they were informed and not brainwashed, but as I age, I'm getting less and less tolerance for the brainwashed. I can tell you that Zelenskyy and Victoria Nuland has utter contempt for them.

Then he's an idiot. It's common knowledge what is going on from a 40 year old midwestern. And many others. What was he trying to "expose" that we already didn't know? I have family members all over the place. That's not an excuse. They can move from a war torn country.

As I've said I don't care about Russia or Ukraine. But let's have logical dialog about it. If you're a journalist adversary to Ukraine, you die. If you're a journalist adversary to Russia, you die. This is like jumping off a bridge and thinking gravity will stop working and you can float.
25   Karloff   2024 Feb 24, 10:07am

I have a fairly strong moral stance. It's the hypocrisy of these situations that bothers me, because it's fundamentally dishonest. I try to look at an act that's committed and determine if it was good, evil, neutral, etc based on what was done and why. These... "people", or whatever you can call them these days don't do that. Their reasoning boils down to:

Who committed the act and/or who was affected.

That's it. The act itself isn't even relevant. It's all agenda and ends-justifies-the-means thinking. It's immoral and and sends every non-thinking simpleton that listens to them down a dangerous road. It's why you have these lawless pukes throwing outrageous charges and penalties against Trump while at the same time screaming that he's going to be a fascist dictator who will ignore the rule of law and attack his political enemies and people are being increasingly conditioned to accept this abomination of justice.

As I have gotten older and a tiny bit smarter, this is what I think it comes down to at a fundamental level. Looking back, I can't believe that I used to be an activist in my 20s, I was dumb.

Reality is in 2024 it is citizens reporting. Not journalist. I'll report on my towns facebook page if the roads are shit cause I'm usually on them at 5am if there's snow or ice. There's no need to go to Ukraine and report on it and be negative in the country. Same for Russia. The information is all out there on social media and forums. No need to go there.

Sucks he died, but people die in US prisons daily. There was no need for him to be there. Give no shits if his ex-wife (lol) was from there. Clearly she left the shit hole and was right to do that. Her ex-husband clearly was a moron Rich. Journalism as we know it is dead. And this guy proved it...
