I've said often America's biggest social ailment is we've lost the right to give Jerks an attitude adjustment. The seedy underworld lived a different set of rules than regular people in society.
Regular every day people, i.e. those not tied to Al Capone and his merry men of thugs, considered how their actions and words effected their neighbor, less they were ran out of town on a pole, or worked over by the neighborhood social club.

People just don't give a crap how they look, say, act or do anymore. Television and Movies don't help, with out the community collective to keep people in check, those bigscreen characters become the new reality.
And everyday people push the envelope. How will people top chewing off faces and shooting up theaters?

Some people value what other people that they love, trust and respect think of them. For these people, flogging is unnecessary and most likely counterproductive.

Other people are either sociopaths, narcissistic, brutally insensitive, or otherwise completely clueless or maliciously indifferent to the harm that they cause others. For these people, only the certain threat of physical violence against them works to contain their urges to fuck over their fellow human. I'm too lazy to look it up now, but that American fuck in Singapore back over 10 years ago that thought he could act like a hoodlum but was caned (and his ass will bear the scars for the rest of his sorry self-entitled life) because they don't fuck around in Singapore.

And NO, I'm not talking about bullshit virtue signaling (which was what this wuhan lockdown fiasco was ultimately all about). The duty to others is first to do no harm when no harm is forthcoming; e.g. don't fuck with people for fun. That DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOU CAN DICTATE WHAT A PERSON PUTS IN HIS OR HER BODY, BE IT A COCK OR A TOXXINE.
