Many progressive Twitter users threatened to abandon the platform by, for example, migrating to Mastodon. But after moving to a service named for an extinct mammal, the Twitter refugees set about canceling each other for a variety of real or imagined affronts to the orthodoxy. That’s what they miss about Old Twitter: the ability to erase the unpersons.

Rep. Chellie Pingree (D-Maine), who joined Mastodon earlier this month, said she is “exploring new platforms where misinformation is not actively embraced by the leadership of the company.” Pingree blasted Musk’s “anti-democratic worldview” for turning Twitter into “a pay-to-play platform where anyone with $8 can impersonate a public official.”

Good that they are branching out.

I wouldn't mind a bunch of Twatter blue hairs on this site. Provided people can just talk, you can change minds, unless they are fundamentally crazy.
