While I hate to dole out hopium, I really do believe that eventually, this era will be a dark stain on US History and especially the Media.
This "era" is 20 years old, REALLY - nothing has changed within that time.
The only thing that is changing is you, you're becoming aware of just how corrupt our government is. People have been screaming about this for decades. It's probably going on longer than 20 years, but that's the extent of what I know of it.

I know you don't think so, but I'll go back to Garofalo and Meathead on Fox News making the case against the Iraq War 15-20 years ago. These days, Fox won't have anybody on challenging irregularities in any election, even when Republicans lose.
I'll go to Matt Taibbi being celebrated for his Financial Crisis series. Now literally the SAME people who praised him for it, are calling him a traitor for processing the Twitter-Deep State collusion trail.
It really changed around 2012-2015. The key moment was the elimination of local news and media comment sections, pushing everybody to a handful of Social Media platforms.

Such are the dangers of having principles. Remember when Julian Assange was celebrated by "the left"?

Yeah, but the thing about the Internet is, anybody can run a website.
The result of turning off comment sections is that nobody gives a shit what they even say anymore.
Sure Twatter, Fuckbook, and Guulag can censor all they wish - that's HARD to do. It's takes work. It's a lot harder to control the conversation, and make it appear you're not controlling the conversation, than just let a conversation happen. Why are there 1000's of people needed to run Twatter? For what? It's a fucking WEBSITE. Most of the people involved in these companies are doing information control, censorship, promotion of stupid ideas, etc.
They are at a severe economic disadvantage, in a FREE MARKET - too bad we don't have a free market..
But that's not what happened --- People went onto Social Media to comment. Then, they sprung the shadowban/suspend trap - too fast.
Yeah, people moved to the trap, and when that trap was exposed, other companies like Parler, Bitchute, Rumble, Gab, etc popped up. These companies wouldn't EXIST if there wasn't censorship on Youtube, Facebook, and Twitter.
I honestly believe Trump's candidacy forced them to advance the crackdown before they gave it enough time to thoroughly normalize it.
Well, whatever - good.
The one thing Trump did is make my cynical self in 2016 realize I was only 1% as cynical as I should have been. I have 100% confidence now in saying our government is run by a bunch of traitors to the Constitution. The legacy of Trump was to expose the abject criminality of our government, and media, and BIDNESS leaders.
I used to suspect it MIGHT be this bad, now I know it is. Instead of being in a perpetual state of uncertainty of whether I was being too cynical and MAYBE it's not as bad as I thought, I'm now in the position of KNOWING that people who don't realize what is going on, are just comically ignorant and ridiculously easy to control and propagandize. It's WAY worse than even I suspected, and I was cynical as hell. If somebody called me a conspiracy theorist back in 2016, I had to consider "maybe I do have something broken in my thinking", today it's "well, I never realized that MIT graduate was so fucking stupid and naive".
I thought it was getting bad, I remember David Horowitz and Michael Savage screaming about Woke Radical Profs in the 2000s while GOP Establishment maintained it wasn't a problem as the Millie College Students would start paying taxes or get mugged.
Much of why we are where we are and why it happened is because Radical Millies got jobs in Media. Peak Millie years were 1988-1992, so no surprise that 21-23 years later ...
In any case, we just had another 49-51 election in a "formerly" red state.
Though we won Virginia, precisely because the GOP Establishment helped Youngkin by not announcing rural precinct totals as fast as they could have. Kemp/Ratburger deliberately lost Georgia by reporting the vast number of suburban/rural red counties ASAP so DeKalb and Mail-Ins could find out how much was needed and then make up the difference. It's no accident Walker was up the whole night until the last hour or so.
And Florida went from being a swing state to deep dark red precisely because of the stringent rules and enforcement introduced and continually refined post Bush-Gore.
Baker has been featured repeatedly in the Russian investigations launched by the Justice Department, including the hoax involving the Russian Alfa Bank. When Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann wanted to plant the bizarre false claim of a secret communications channel between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin, Baker was his go-to, speed-dial contact. (Baker would later testify at Sussmann’s trial). Baker’s name also appeared prominently in controversies related to the other Russian-related FBI allegations against Trump. He was effectively forced out due to his role and reportedly found himself under criminal investigation. He became a defender of the Russian investigations despite findings of biased and even criminal conduct. He was also a frequent target of Donald Trump on social media, including Twitter. Baker responded with public criticism of Trump for his “false narratives.”
After leaving the FBI, Twitter seemed eager to hire Baker as deputy general counsel. Ironically, Baker soon became involved in another alleged back channel with a presidential campaign. This time it was Twitter that maintained the non-public channels with the Biden campaign (and later the White House). Baker soon weighed in with the same signature bias that characterized the Russian investigations.
Weeks before the 2020 presidential election, the New York Post ran an explosive story about a laptop abandoned by Hunter Biden that contained emails and records detailing a multimillion dollar influence peddling operation by the Biden family. Not only was Joe Biden’s son Hunter and brother James involved in deals with an array of dubious foreign figures, but Joe Biden was referenced as the possible recipient of funds from these deals.
The Bidens had long been accused of influence peddling, nepotism, and other forms of corruption. Moreover, the campaign was not denying that the laptop was Hunter Biden’s and key emails could be confirmed from the other parties involved. However, at the request of the “Biden team” and Democratic operatives, Twitter moved to block the story. It even suspended those who tried to share the allegations with others, including the White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, who was suspended for linking to the scandal.
Even inside Twitter, the move raised serious concerns over the company serving as a censor for the Biden campaign. Global Comms Brandon Borrman who asked if the company could “truthfully claim that this is part of the policy” for barring posts and suspending users.
Glenn Greenwald @ggreenwald Dec 6 Last night on our show, we dissected the mentality of people like Twitter execs Vijaya Gadde and @yoyoel to see why these people really believe they should censor what information you can get: up today.
But first: @TimJDillon has a great breakdown of their sociopathic arrogance:
Not sure if anyone looked closely at this, but he's making not too subtle comparisons between himself and God. Also, notice the soldiers keeping the people out of the ship with guns. This guy is fucking crazy.
It's technically true, making it maybe not technically a lie. But its intentionally misleading and will be misinterpreted by most readers, as designed. This tactic is so common in politics and recent media propaganda.
If pressed in court, they could hinge onto the true meaning of what it means to "shadowban", or even what they believed the meaning of shadow banning to be at the time of making the statement. Also, it doesn't sound like they ban based specifically on ideology - they ban people who spread certain types of info / narratives, and the list of bad speech just coincidentally happens to be mostly things said by and beneficial to conservatives. I'm sure they crossed their T's and dotted their I's by making sure to also shadow ban some left wingers too, just far fewer in numbers and meaningfulness. Morally bankrupt lawyers assisted in devising this scheme.
Hopefully some aggregate counts showing how many left vs right were banned will make people realize how blatant they really did target ideology, and just added camouflage.
Unfortunately this makes it clear shadow banning is here to stay. Although he more or less said this some months back he said something like "freedom of speech but not freedom of reach"
Alphabet agencies probably told him twitter was their spy and influence apparatus, and that he better get used to it.
The JournaList Talking Point: Taibbi sold out to do PR for the Richest Man in the World.
I'd actually agree with this. Taibbi has always gone with the general flow of thought that will make him the most money. We all would if in his shoes. In this case I believe he's finally on the right side of things for once. He fucked up at Rolling Stone.

Anybody wanna guess why MSM is avoiding the Twitter-Deep State collusion story? The answer is they did the same with news.
I can't see it. Can somebody explain it to me? There appears to be a baby there - that's the only thing that stands out. Maybe a bird?
I did do an image search, drastically reducing the resolution, you get this:
If my eyesight was significantly worse, I think I could see it.
No.
Only people of culture can see it.
So Jack lied.
