I've been saying for years that the 2010-2015 elimination of comments from Western Megacorp Owned News Sites and pushing everybody to controlled Big Tech Social Media was deliberate. How third world media sites had very active comment sections and still have them, despite far fewer resources.

Bots were deployed to create a false consensus. Then shadowbans and outright bans were layered on top of that, to create a false reality of the majority being the minority. The same way "Bolshevik" means Majority when they were the true Mensheviks "Minority" and only the Kaiser's Gold allowed Lenin to fake mass support.

And now we see just how sophisticated those bots are:

It's very hard now to know who's real and who's not online.

Not just Hogg, but MSNBC, Robert Reich, and countless Leftoids are now complaining that the Real Majority is being heard.

Took about a second for this answer to pop back.

Does anyone here remember the Apple II game with an AI "psychiatrist" giving responses to you?

"I feel so isolated." "Tell me more".
"I want to hurt my parents." "That's interesting"

Strange thing is the bot could form a rapid response that is appropriate to the Marvel dramaturgy around the Stark character.

These kind of bots clearly map language to abstractions, do some calculation on the abstractions to come up with a response, and map that back to language.

It's impressive.

Racter was another AI program for 8-bit home computers that I remember from the 80's. Very primitive by today's standards, but was pretty interesting at the time.

Chatbot may have a different opinion

Why tech insiders are so excited about ChatGPT, a chatbot that answers questions and writes essays

Key Points:

ChatGPT has gone viral since OpenAI released the text-based artificial intelligence tool last month.

It’s the latest development in the world of generative AI, which has attracted billions of dollars in funding from tech investors.

“ChatGPT, as currently conceived, is a parlor trick,” said Bern Elliot, a vice president at Gartner.
