#kleptomaniacputin Greetings Everyone!
I left out something important in my Op-Ed this morning on the book "Killer In The Kremlin. John Sweeney pointed out that Vladimir Putin is also a kleptomaniac (a compulsive thief.) Here are two examples from the book as follows:
1) Putin was in a meeting with the owner of a major U.S. NFL football team. His team had won a Super Bowl. The wealthy man was wearing a heavy and super-expensive Super Bowl ring. Putin admired the ring. He asked the man to take the ring off his finger and give it to him so he could admire it. Putin admired the ring. He put it in his pocket. He declined to return the ring to the owner.
2) Putin was on a museum tour in Europe. His eye caught something that fascinated him. He instructed an aide to take the item. He left the museum with it. He made no effort to reimburse the museum for its loss.

No owner named, no team named, no date, no game.

This is propaganda 101. Make up vague story, make it impossible to verify.

A Klepto does not take things in your face, they do it behind your back. I think his absconding with trinkets, favors, and tokens from people, is him asserting his power, to see who is willing to stand up to him in his face. What was an owner of a NFL football team doing meeting with Putin in the first place? He wanted the experience to boast about his audience with Putin, to enrich his political clout in someway I'm sure. Nothing is for free, you mess with the bull you get the horns. He got to meet Putin, like he wanted, but all he got was this lousy "Possession vs Ownership" story.

And I don't believe the Museum story for one minute. That just doesn't sound like something that is even possible, without it being a mutual exchange. Why did security at the museum and or the authorities stand down if that story really took place. Putin certainly isn't the leader of Europe.
Either it didn't happen, or there was some agreement that wasn't public at the time for him taking the item. Funny how the "Something" isn't even described in the anecdote.
You would think if it were important enough, they would be saying the equivalent of "Putin instructed his henchmen to remove "The Scream" and take it with him. Museums are pretty proud of their acquisitions and one is taken they go into great detail to describe what was taken from them.

I think Putin is on his fifth or sixth generation of avatar, all graduates of the 'Vladimir Putin Advanced Academy of International Studies'. The klepto Putin was a few generations ago, and was a myth of lightweight propaganda, anyway.
