This is what I mentioned in my other post. I have an FAA license for drones. I was like WTF reading articles that it was changed to "air missions." I didn't see a problem with airmen. WoMEN. It's in their gender word, so who gives a shit.

What I think is happening is as a society we're actually close to the best quality/ease of life for the common person as possible. So people now have time to dick around and think about other BS and act on it. No one was screaming for women's rights in the 1500's, they were focused on eating and staying alive. That is so trivial now and in many cases the government pays for your food.

80% of the population is absolutely fucked if our power grid goes down for a prolonged period. They'll then blame the government and not themselves. As gay as the Boy Scouts have become the motto Be Prepared is valid. Most aren't prepared at all. Similar to the six months of expenses in savings (which 90% don't have) I'd say you need to be prepared to live at least one whole month without electric, house gas (you could have propane) or water. If you can't do that, you're likely fucked, especially cities. Society would breakdown in 2 days. Especially in winter or hot summers. Chicago is already an outdoor shooting range in the summer.

Wow I didn't realize that was why they changed the language. I have a P4 paragliding licence and fly with an aviation band radio at my home site since we land at the local airport and share E5 space with small planes and skydivers. I frequently call the airport to check wind direction and velocity below before launching, and any NOTAMs. Wondered why suddenly it started saying "notice to air mission,"

I don't need NOTAMs for my hobby and kind of side gig with the drones. My wife is out of town. She doesn't fly a thing. I want to see her first take on it if the change from airmen to air missions is something that moves her. I think she'll say who fucking cares.

Not gonna lie, they're somehow breaking through to women I thought were strong, driven, gave zero shits if they were competing against a dude or a dog. Apparently some women must be upset. Not sure I want them flying stuff if they're upset about something that little. Just enjoy flying something, anything really.

I way preferred "notice to airmen". Sounds better. Masculine is always the plural of people, like in Spanish, them is usually "Ellos".

I actually think it motivates women that want to fly. "I'm in the club" so to speak. I personally think it degrades women if that makes sense as I think you're alluding to. I'm in the mans club, you other bitches can eat it.

Either way it's an acronym that you learn when training for a license. You know what it is after ground training, but you don't care. Give me my info and let me move on with the flight. My wife had to cancel her flight and drive to St. Louis area yesterday because of this NOTAM shit. 2 hours for flight/drive or 5 hours in a car. I then learn about this. People have too much time on their hands. Maybe just thank your female pilot or first officer when exiting the plane. That goes way further than changing a acronym to appease probably 0.0001% of the population that knows the term.

My high school English teacher would always say "The default pronoun in English is he whether you like it or not. It's not they."

His father was an old school Dutch minister who didn't put up with any shit, and neither did he. Really excellent teacher and I'm grateful to this day to have had him for two years of English.
