The Daily Caller ran a more encouraging story yesterday headlined, “Rep. Dan Bishop Moves to Overturn ‘War on Terror’ Authorization.”
After 22 years of blanket authorization, a bipartisan group of House representatives, led by Representative Dan Bishop (R-NC), has introduced legislation to repeal the 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) that has allowed four presidents nearly unlimited authority to prosecute the endless War on Terror.
To be sure, the proposed repeal is a long shot. But it’s progress.
