I've never understood why people are so obsessed with high speed given most of us don't generate nearly enough traffic to consume more than 10% of the bandwidth we're given on a daily basis. Because of my VPN I'm capped at around 10gb, even though my connection supports 50. Internet speed will be 300 at new place, but if the best VPN server doesn't have better bandwidth, I'll likely still be at the same 10gb cap. And I work from home, and run automation tests from my laptop, including performance tests.

Only reason I can think of for such insane bandwidth is plugging us into the virtual Matrix, or providing enough bandwidth for the massive amount of spying on our activities.
