The response to it was "The Sink of Solitude", a collection of Drawings - Memes if you will - mocking Hall and her not so subtle autobiographical/polemical work by placing a tomboyish woman on a cross.
AmericanKulak Can you find any of those drawings and post them here? A quick search turned up nothing.
Her girlfriend was https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Una_Vincenzo,_Lady_Troubridge, a middle aged convert to lesbianism who was her "Boston Marriage", the old euphemism for lesbians living together even though they usually had high enough income not to need roommates. BTW, most first wavers/suffragettes had "Boston Marriages". They all dressed in tailored suits with monocles.

It gave Hall such a case of the vapors she stayed inside crying, literally the crying NPC meme, for a year.
I mention this because I thought - retort, pictures were memes, and the NPC butthurt. No wonder they want to ban any criticism or satire of their views as "Sexist, Racist, Homophobic"
Working on becoming something of a 19th Century Victorian Conservative, we would be so much better to look at what we believed in the era of Peak Development and the Maximum Strength of Western Civ, and re-adopting some or all of that ideology. Starting with "Do as you will in your own house, but if you bring it out in public, it's Moral Turptitude."
