I haven't seen it, and it's a bit suspect because Tom Hanks is definitely on the site of the violent, intolerant far left. But it's probably worth viewing. Reviews appreciated.

Sounds like it might actually be a fair depiction of events:

The documentary makes several controversial claims, including:

Minneapolis police were ordered not to stop the riots following Floyd's death
Chauvin was following current Minneapolis police protocol when he placed his knee to Floyd's neck for 9 minutes and 29 seconds
The FBI altered the autopsy report
Minnesota Democrats and prosecutors rushed to judgment to prosecute the four officers involved in Floyd's arrest
EMTs took 20 minutes to arrive despite officers at the scene calling immediately and there being an ambulance bay eight blocks away

Speaking of the late, not great, criminal non-mastermind George Floyd, if you’re looking for a movie this weekend, you could either watch pathetic, lazy remakes of Marvel classics using woke diversity themes instead of engaging plots or storylines, or instead you could preserve those brain cells and enjoy “The Fall of Minneapolis.” It’s an outstanding independent documentary about the George Floyd debacle and in particular, Minneapolis’s inexplicable order to evacuate the Third Precinct and turn it over to the mob.

I’m not assembling a multiplier, but if you think, as I do, it’s important to encourage high-production-value works like this, you can chip in here: Donate to The Fall of Minneapolis.

Saturday Night Film: The Fall Of Minneapolis

Events So Horrendous, You Wonder If An Entire City Can Become Possessed

I really like this film.

It opens with a lengthy segment in which you see the entire footage from several cameras of “George Floyd’s” arrest, detainment, and transfer to an ambulance.

There is absolutely no excessive cruelty, no apparent venomous, racist, murderous spirit afoot, nothing except four police officers trying to get a very tall, muscular man to enter and remain in a police car after he is arrested for using counterfeit money. He’s cuffed but fighting wildly, screaming, seeming to be having paranoid hallucinations; It’s all incredibly sad, even before they burn down Minneapolis.

It will blow your mind to hear the true facts about all this, and to see the incredibly sinister backdrop, and cast of phony, preening globalist whores in positions of MN who made sure the police were destroyed, along with the city. ...

The restraining technique was precisely as per training, as per police instruction manual. Ambulance was called—(what racist murderer cops call an ambulance?)—and lo and behold, that was who failed to give George Floyd the oxygen that could have saved his life. The tube was not connected to the oxygen tank. It’s one death blow after another, to the official narrative that launched the global George Floyd Op and ensured BLM leaders could buy several mansions each etc.

(The public donated over $90 million to BLM after Floyd’s death.)

The most harrowing part of the film is the part about the Minneapolis police—what they went though, how betrayed and deserted they were. How their headquarters were burned down, their lives in danger, but maybe worst of all, the total collapse of everything they took a pledge to when they became police officers. Many of them got physically sick when they tried to return to work, from the post traumatic stress associated with the memories from the riots. You have to see it to believe it, how far the “stand down” orders actually went. It’s sickening.

The rioters, possessed with spirits of violence, arson, theft potential murder, even threw split pig heads (real ones) around. I fixate sometimes on details like this. Where did they get the pig heads from? Who was really behind this Lord of The Flies implosion of a major city in America’s heartland? ...

“As the documentary unfolds, it raises unsettling questions about whether the destruction witnessed in Minneapolis was a deliberate act orchestrated by those in power, rather than a result of mere negligence. It suggests that there may be a larger narrative at play, extending beyond the tragic death of George Floyd. These revelations make the film a compelling call for further investigation into the events that unfolded and the underlying motivations behind them.

“Solari covered the use of riots in 2020 as a tool of disaster capitalism. This documentary demonstrates how the police were encouraged to “stand down” and, therefore, allowed a city to be destroyed. Catherine has commented, “Imagine the wealth to be created by the few picking up real estate cheap. Alarmingly, it isn’t just Minneapolis; it is happening in many cities, including Memphis, Chicago, and San Francisco.” Referring to the recent visit to San Francisco by Xi Jinping, Catherine continues, “They were able to solve the homeless problem immediately; all the homeless were gone, and the question is, where are they? The minute they want this to stop, they can get it to stop; this is a plan.”

@Patrick, since you're on a reading binge, you should track down contemporaneous writings from the 1840's through the 1860's. This country was torn apart, and some claim the United States as constituted in 1789 was destroyed as an outcome of the civil war.

Remember Dale in "King of the Hill" when he went to court and proclaimed "I refuse to recognize the validity of this court as a sovereign citizen of the United States. The flag of this court is the admiralty flag which applies to maritime law."

Fanaticism destroyed the United States once before (John Brown, et. al.). Are we facing a new epoch of destruction?

The documentary changed John McWhorter's mind about the death of George Floyd (admittedly, a somewhat easier sell than say a BLM activist, as McWhorter is the author of the book Woke Racism: How a New Religion Has Betrayed Black America).

Thanks @stereotomy Sounds very relevant. Got any specific books?

I just started Plutarch's Lives and it looks pretty interesting, politically.

The 'reporter' that appears in 'The Fall of Minneapolis' interviews the writer/producer of the documentary. It is an interesting followup to the documentary.
