Anybody who has hired employees or seen business knows the morons who portray expertise that they don't have. When they don't even have expertise, but just 'attitude', you enter a whole new dimension of clown world.

It's one thing hiring the token and shoving them out of the way of the real workers at a do nothing back desk, and quite another thinking they should be directing the airplanes at the airport.

Then, subversion was never anything but a nasty business. What could possibly go wrong?

I fly frequently and almost exclusively on the 737. A one off incident means nothing. A depressurized plane and landing at night. Pilots actually did a good job. DEI hiring is bull shit, but even if this was that, they performed. The maintenance crew certainly isn't DEI hired as it's only white men that work on mechanics. I'm not white male shaming, but it's on the maintenance/mechanics to check that shit 100%. I can promise you Shaquanda from the hood wasn't working on that plane or flying it. She was the gate attendant.

LOL! That about sums it up.

About a quarter, and rising, of airline maintenance takes place in China, South America, or Europe. Who knows what goes on there? I bought some 'Organic' strawberries from Turkey yesterday. OK, maybe...

My nephew finished airline mechanic school a few years ago. The guy can't operate a broom stick. He's a cashier at a BBQ joint now so we're safe for the moment.

The actual airline mechanic job doesn't pay that well, I hear.

I have a pal who parlayed that into management, then teaching, then working for the military testing out airplane weapons on the beach in NE Florida (at that point living on the beach making over 100K) to the past year or so I see him hob knobbing in Dubai whenever I happen to open Facebook (not often).

Gen-X though.

Hob knobing in Dubai on a 100k job? Please.

I don't know what he makes or does now. Actually when I was starting out in college he and my other bestie started doing steroids and became male strippers. He was rolling in dough in his early 20s..

Maybe he's selling weapons for the MIC now? It was about 3 years ago he was telling me about his gig where he got to, "Blow shit up on the beach", for a living.

Maybe he's there on business trips, all expenses paid.
